Boys Planet episode 9 comes out this week, and since the new broadcast is upon us, it’s time to vote for your favourite contestants before it’s too late. Also announced as the ‘5th Generation K-pop boy Group Debut Project’, Boys Planet is the ongoing South Korean reality or survival competition show Mnet created.
Having sought inspiration from the Girls Planet 999 series, the new reality show premiered in February, with every new episode airing on Thursdays. While the series may have started with thousands of male contestants being divided into two groups, namely, K-group (Korean) and G-group (Global), only a few of them will be able to make it to the finale episode, slated for premiere on April 20, 2023, when nine boys would be finalised as part of the latest debuting K-pop group.
Recently, a new announcement surfaced, as per which the final team will also be part of the KCON Japan 2023 line-up on May 2, 2023. However, returning to the present ground reality, Mnet has released full choreography practice videos of each group combination performing in this week’s episode.
What is the New Mission’s Concept?
Titled “Artist Battle”, the new mission will see the remaining 28 trainees dancing to original songs, all chosen by the audience. Dancing is one of many skills they need to excel at. The forthcoming battle will also require the contestants to partake in rap-making, choreographing and producing. The winning team of the day will be granted a few special benefits like 200,000 points added to their score, a performance stage on Mnet’s M Countdown, and even a fan meeting with the “Star Creators”, aka the audience voting for them.

The network has revealed five videos. Team “SuperCharger” includes members Wang Zi Hao, Seo Won, Haruto, Cha Woong-ki, Ollie and Takuto; Team “Switch” includes members Park Han-bin, Kim Tae-rae, Keita, Na Kamden, Zhang Shuai Bo and Yoon Jong-woo; Team “En Garde” includes members Park Gun-wook, Lee Hoe-taek, Kim Gyu-vin, Kum Jun-hyeon, Lee Seung-hwan and Hiroto; Team “Say My Name” includes members Yoo Seung-eon, Seok Matthew, Kim Ji-woong, Sung Han-bin and Han Yu-jin; Team “Over Me” includes members Zhang Hao, Lee Jeong-hyeon, Chen Kuan Jui, Jay and Ricky.
The third global voting period is ongoing at the moment, and will be open till April 7, 2023, 10 AM KST. The new episode aka Boys Planet episode 9 will live-stream on March 30, 2023 at 8:50 PM KST on the Mnet YouTube channel.
