When Is Borgen Power And Glory Releasing? All About The Political Drama Series

Borgen Power And Glory is the upcoming fourth season of the successful political Danish TV series Borgen which was released in 2010. While the third season of the series was aired in 2013 and the fourth season is reprising after almost 10 years, as a separate series and a new appropriate name. Although it has been already aired in the Nordic region, the series is set to be released globally on Netflix on 2nd June 2022.

The series is created by Adam Price along with Jeppe Gjervig Gram and Tobias Lindholm. The initial three seasons follow the story of Danish politician Birgitte Nyborg who became Denmark’s first female leader and the struggles she faces while climbing up the political ladder. However, various setbacks demoted her to a businesswoman and public speaker, before she get back to form a new political party, the New Democrats. Each season has 10 episodes in total with a runtime of about 56-59 minutes respectively.

The star cast includes Sidse Babett Knudsen reprising the lead role of Birgitte Nyborg, Søren Malling as Torben Friis alongside Birgitte Hjort Sorensen as Katrine Fønsmark, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard as Asger Holm Kirkegaard, Simon Bennebjerg as Oliver Hjorth, Magnus Millang as Rasmus Gren Lundbæk and Özlem Saglanmark as Narciza Aydin.

Borgen: Power And Glory Plot/Synopsis

In the latest season, Birgitte Nyborg is the newly appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs. Netflix synopsis of the series reads,’ Foreign Minister Birgitte Nyborg finds her career in jeopardy when a dispute over oil in Greenland threatens to become an international crisis ‘. A drilling company suddenly discovers oil in Greenland and from then begins an international struggle for power in the Arctic. The relationship between Greenland and Denmark is at stake, with international powers (US & China) on the lookout.

It will also closely follow the story of Katrine Fønsmark played by Birgitte Hjort Sorensen, who was the head of press for Birgitte and is now the head of the news department of a nationwide television station. The central plot revolves around the political crisis, climate change and how power can influence people to let go of their moral compass. In the centre of it all, will Birgitte Nyborg succumb to higher authorities or emerge as a reverent leader.
