Blue Lock Season 3 Predictions: Blue Lock garnered a name for itself by successfully incorporating battle shounen elements with sports. We have previously seen good football anime like Caption Tsubasa, Inazuma Eleven, etc, but Blue Lock still managed to stand out.
The manga has been on a successful run from the moment it dropped, and it even became one of the best-selling manga of 2024. However, a franchise with such a track record should have an equally impressive anime adaptation, which was not the case with Blue Lock Season 2. With that in mind, Blue Lock Season 3 predictions are heating up as fans hope it finally does justice to the manga.
What Happened To Blue Lock Season 2?
The moment the Blue Lock Season 2 teaser dropped, fans knew things would not be good because of the standstill quality of the animation. But we still had hopes that they would not disappoint us as the Blue Lock vs u20 Japan arc is one of the most important ones that will set up the tone for all future developments.
The first episode was not as bad because it was just the introduction episode and not much playing happened. However, it was the 2nd episode from where things went downhill. When the internal matches begin, we start to see an absolute abomination of animation that is nothing more than moving images. People even trolled the bad animation as PNG or slideshow animation, and rightly so because it truly was that horrible.
Thankfully, the makers had the sense to end things on a high note, and the last episode was the finest and most hype episode of Blue Lock.
What Can We Expect From Blue Lock Season 3?

When talking about Blue Lock Season 3 predictions, there’s a lot to be excited about. The 3rd season will have much to offer story-wise as we will get introduced to Kaiser and see the next step of the Blue Lock project. Eminent players from all around the world would come to team up and compete with the top players of Blue Lock, and the whole world would witness their might. Here, Isagi will also get the chance to play against Rin, something that I am personally excited about.
Kaiser will be a very interesting addition to the cast as he will be both an ally and a competitor to Isagi. He will be the catalyst who will kickstart Isagi’s growth as an egotistical player. The stakes of the games will also be much higher in the third season, hence, it is important that we get some really good animation this time around.
Blue Lock Season 3 Predictions: Can The Animation Get Better?

The backlash around the bad animation of Blue Lock Season 2 got pretty intense, and Studio 8bit was also criticised very harshly because of it. This should have some positive outcome, and the makers might take into account how they fumbled and check on their quality.
There is also the fact that Blue Lock Season 3 might be released in 2026, which means there is an ample amount of time for the studio to work on the production and rectify their mistakes. The budget should not be an issue as Blue Lock is a highly popular franchise with a dedicated fanbase, so focusing on quality will be the key to success.

However, if 8bit thinks that they can pull a similar stunt with the 3rd season, fans will really not be happy this time. We have forgiven once, but it is high time we get the animation we deserve for such a high-octane anime. It is not like good animation is impossible, as they have proved it can be done with the last episode of Season 2.
So yes, my Blue Lock Season 3 predictions reflect my hope for a great season, but in the end, it all comes down to how well the animation studio delivers.
