Blue Lock Episode 16 Preview: When, Where and How to Watch!

Blue Lock Episode 16 is the sixteenth episode of one of the most popular anime of this year. Blue Lock is a sports anime directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe and Hisashi Toujima and is based on an original manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yuusuke Nomura. The series is being animated by Studio 8bit.

The show follows Yoichi Isagi, a talented but unrefined striker who gets the opportunity of a lifetime after being invited to compete for and inside the Blue Lock, where Japan’s most talented football strikers have all been gathered to compete against each other. Yoichi might not be the strongest, fastest, sturdiest, or most technically gifted out of all the candidates gathered, but he still has a skill that helps him keep up with the others.

The first selection process saw the strikers compete against each other in teams of 11, just as a standard football match would be. After learning about each other’s strengths and abilities, Yoichi and his teammates, including Bachira, Chigiri, and Kunigami, cleared the first selection successfully. However, a lot of football is still left to play, and many players are still left to defeat!

Blue Lock Episode 16 Plot

The rules for this selection process are very weird and make for inconsistent matchups. 2v2 matchups proved to be extremely boring and predictable, with not many possible outcomes of the matchups. Hopefully, as we progress back into 3v3, 4v4, and even 5v5 matchups, things will pick up for the show. With the matches having the potential to become much more personal, a lot of emotions are going to be at stake.

Blue Lock Episode 16 Characters

Chigiri and Kunigami picking Reo for their team was the most obvious outcome of this selection process being the way it is, but it is one that makes logical sense. It will be interesting to see how the chemistry between the trio we just learned about works because we already know Nagi, Barou, and Yoichi are going to go along like oil and water. It will be interesting to see if the teams match up against one another and who are their other partners that they steal before matching up.

Blue Lock Episode 16 Predictions

Nagi, Yoichi, and Barou stomp another hapless team to make it a 4 vs 4 again. And this time, they go up against the people they left behind to form their own, as Chigiri and Kunigami come face to face with them again.

Blue Lock Episode 15 Recap

The match between the teams of Yoichi and Nagi against Barou and Naruhaya continued in this episode, as Naruhaya and Yoichi had a mid-off to see who was the worse footballer out of the two of them. The goals kept not mattering as it was an extremely tepid 2v2 with little to no interesting bits happening at any given time. The result you were expecting to happen did happen, and in a less satisfying manner than you would assume.
