Blue Box Episode 6 Recap

Blue Box Episode 7 Review

Last time, Hina discovered the secret between Chinatsu and Taiki. Instead of keeping her distance, Hina takes the bold step of confronting them directly about their living arrangement. With no other choice, Taiki finally opens up and explains why Chinatsu has been staying with him. Naturally, Hina feels betrayed by being kept in the dark about something so significant, and she doesn’t let Taiki off easily, even making him balance comic books on his lap as a playful punishment.

Now that Hina knows her friend is getting closer to his crush, she tries her best to be supportive. Unfortunately, this is where things start to unravel. Hina has always viewed Taiki as her cherished friend, someone she could joke around with and be herself. It’s likely for this reason she never realized her own growing feelings for him. But with Taiki’s affections directed elsewhere, Hina is forced to confront her own emotions for the first time.

Blue Box Episode 7 Review

The episode captures Hina’s inner struggle as she grapples with these unexpected feelings. As a top-tier gymnast, she’s usually at the peak of her game, but the emotional turmoil begins to affect her performance. Taiki notices her slip-ups but attributes it to the stress of training, unaware of the deeper issue troubling her.

Blue Box Episode 7 Review And Recap

Blue Box Episode 7 Review

This episode was a lot more sports-focused than the previous episodes. It is finally time for both Chinatsu and Taiki to concentrate on their tournaments as the preliminaries are coming up. Taiki has significantly gotten better in his game, but at the same time, he still can’t defeat Haryu Senpai in a one-on-one match. But Haryu is such a good senior that he makes sure to not overwork his underclassman, Taiki. Even though he is winning, he tells Taiki not to play against him all the time as otherwise, he will make a habit of losing to someone.

Practice is strong for the women’s basketball team as well, and we see Chinatsu preparing for her preliminary tournament that will start soon.  There is also a very wholesome segment where Chinatsu and Taiki visit a shrine. Here, when Taiki discovers that Chinatsu might not be comfortable walking with him outside of their home, thus he pretends to be an ordinary junior, bumping into their senior and using that pretext to walk around together. He then invites her for a shrine visit, and he wholeheartedly prays for both of their matches.

Blue Box Episode 7 Review

The sports part is definitely more obvious in this episode as we see how hungry both the protagonists are for their win. Right after one of the matches, Chinatsu finds a player from another school badmouthing her, and even though her friends get mad about that, she remains calm. Later, very coolly, she explains that she did not react because she knew the moment she defeated that team, her progress would speak for herself. This definitely made Chinatsu cooler in Taiki’s eyes.

However, I believe the love aspect also developed considerably. We, for the very first time, saw Chinatsu get jealous of Hina in a very subtle manner. This definitely proves that she has some liking towards Taiki, and she will not let Hina do whatever she wants from now on.

Verdict

We had another wholesome episode that showcased the growth of our protagonists as sportspersons. We also had some good humour moments that do keep you entertained. But other than that, this was a decent episode that you will love.
