Blue Box Episode 3 Recap

Taiki finds himself in a difficult spot as he realizes there might be someone else vying for Chinatsu Senpai’s affection. His world is shaken when he sees her talking to Haryu Senpai, the star badminton player at their school. This hits especially hard for Taiki, who is also in the badminton club, as it makes Haryu not only his rival on the court but in his personal life as well. To make matters worse, Haryu is on track to compete at the national level, while Taiki has yet to secure a spot as a starter.
What stings even more is that Haryu is Chinatsu’s classmate, giving them more opportunities to interact. Taiki’s jealousy intensifies when he learns that Haryu affectionately calls her “Chi,” a nickname that shows how close they are. This leaves Taiki brooding over his feelings for much of the episode until he eventually realizes that there’s no use dwelling on it. The only way forward is to focus on what he can control—his performance on the court.

Once he pushes aside his jealousy, Taiki regains his focus on the game, which is crucial since his dream is to become a professional tennis player. It’s also clear that Chinatsu is the perfect match for him, as she intuitively understands his emotions, even when he doesn’t voice them. Their shared determination and passion for their respective sports could pave the way for a strong, healthy relationship.
Blue Box Episode 4 Review And Recap

It has been one month since Chinatsu started living with Taiki, and thankfully, he has quite nicely adapted to that fact. Even though he, at times, gets overwhelmed by her dazzling aura, he still manages to get by. And just the moment when he thinks that everything will go well and nobody can find out about them living together, he causes a blunder. Taiki accidentally takes Chinatsu’s gym uniform to school in place of his own.
This segment was funny because if something like this gets exposed, everybody will know that they are living together. Taiki desperately tries to get past all the obstacles that come his way to find the ideal place where he can exchange the cursed item. When Hina discovers him and is about to touch the uniform, Taiki even makes the outrageous lie that he has not washed his uniform since last summer and has been using it till now. This obviously disgusts his friend, and he manages to slip by.

In this episode, we also see the first instance where Chinatsu sees Taiki as a proper man. When a situation arises where Taiki must adjust his shirt, she blushes after looking at his very well-toned body. This proves that she is indeed aware of him, but it might take more time to open up her heart.
Things become more interesting when a proper love rival of Taiki arrives in his 1st inter-school match after entering high school. Kishi from Shimotomi High School used to be Haryu’s junior. On top of that, coincidentally, he too, is in love with Chinatsu and has asked Haryu to give him her number. But every time, Haryu has dodged his pleas. Hence, to motivate Taiki and push him forward, Haryu puts forward a wager, which Taiki cannot just ignore because it involves the number of his beloved Senpai.

Verdict
Today’s episode was very entertaining, and we see how the characters are becoming closer. The friends of Taiki are really very supportive, and it is literally for them he will have his first date very soon.
