Blue Box Episode 11 Recap

Blue Box Episode 12 Review

The relationship between Taiki and Chinatsu becomes strained after Chinatsu openly expresses her desire to maintain some distance. Her reasoning is grounded in her ambition to pursue a career in basketball without distractions. Similarly, Taiki has his sights set on becoming a professional tennis player, and any mutual attraction could potentially hinder their progress. This creates a challenging dynamic between the two protagonists.

Taiki, in particular, struggles with this revelation as it feels like a rejection from his first love. While Chinatsu continues to behave as if nothing has changed, Taiki is left wrestling with his emotions, forcing himself to appear unaffected. Amidst this tension, Hina sees an opportunity to express her own feelings for Taiki, who has only ever viewed her as a close friend. To make her intentions clear, she invites Taiki to a fireworks festival.

Things could have unfolded in her favour, but Hina’s inherently kind nature prevents her from taking advantage of the situation. She recognizes that Taiki’s heart is still tied to Chinatsu, even if Chinatsu is pushing him away. Instead of using this moment to deepen the rift between them, Hina encourages Taiki to confront his feelings for Chinatsu and take action, showing remarkable selflessness in putting his happiness above her own desires.

Blue Box Episode 12 Review And Recap

Blue Box Episode 12 Review

This episode again drags itself into a messy love triangle that is going to get worse from this point onwards. Previously, we saw that Hina went to the festival with Taiki alone. This obviously signalled a major change in their relationship, where even Taiki understands that something is up with her. She is shyer than usual and is also quieter most of the time. The mood between them becomes awkward, but it also changes lanes to a more flirty one after a small incident.

This does not mean that Taiki is slowly falling in love with her, but it wouldn’t be wrong to say that he is definitely getting more aware of her as a woman. Had these things remained the same, or had he been completely ignored by Chinatsu, there is a high chance Taiki would have moved on to Hina. However, that is not the case because Chinatsu, even after clearly rejecting Taiki, is showing clear interest in him. Not only that, but the moment she catches Taiki with Hina at the festival, she becomes visibly rattled, and I might even say she becomes jealous.

This obviously complicates the whole matter further because, in this outcome, Chinatsu and Taiki will not face any repercussions as it is obvious that they will be together. The one who will ultimately get hurt in this whole scenario is Hina, who thinks she has a chance with Taiki. Perhaps this is also why, fans are getting very divided on who they want to support, even when they all know the endgame.

Apart from relationships, we also see a bit of sport on the side as both Taiki and Chinatsu return to their usual warm-ups. It is very apparent that for Chinatsu, basketball is #1, and thus, her initial reluctance to be with Taiki came from that conviction. But, a woman’s heart is hard to understand, and now that she feels that Taiki is sliding away, it is natural that she, too, feels upset with the whole development.

Verdict

Today’s episode was annoying but also great because of how skillfully the very chaotic nature of love triangles gets described here. In this scenario, there are no equal winners, and one is bound to face disappointment, which here happens to be Hina.
