The little brother among The Big Three has risen again, as Bleach is back to claim its spot as a shonen legend. Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Episode 8 is the eighth episode of the final arc of Bleach, an action, fantasy, and supernatural anime directed by Tomohisa Taguchi and based on an original manga written by Tite Kubo. The episode is also known as Bleach TYBW Episode 8 and Bleach Sennen Kessen-hen Episode 8.
The series is based in a world where spirits are guided towards the afterlife by a group of protectors named “Soul-Reapers”. They are their sole defence against various other negative aspects of souls, such as the corrupted hollows, the powerful Arrancars, and bad Soul Reapers out to destroy the balance of the world. Speaking of Balance, the latest season revolves around Quincies, the natural enemy of the Soul Reapers, and their war against the entire soul society.
Bleach Thousand Year Blood War sees our favourite substitute Soul-reaper, Ichigo Kurosaki, alongside all of his friends and the entirety of the Soul Reaper force from the Soul Society, go up against the Quincy King. He has come to fulfil the prophecy of being the one to put an end to the war between the two rival forces and erase the reapers from this universe forever. This is the hardest challenge Ichigo has ever faced. Let’s see if he comes out on top!

In an episode which was the most exciting and fast-paced thing to come out of anime in 2022, the show managed to drop a lot of revelations that changed the way we look at the plot forever. There were some details about Ichigo’s and Yama’s plots that ranged on different levels of relevancy but were devastating all the same. The fallout from the war as a whole and the reveals promises to be a legendary one, even if the future looks extremely bleak.

This episode should see the Soul Society, or what is left of it, try to recover and reconvene after the horrors that they just witnessed. Ichigo has a lot of introspection to do, and the living Quincy in the human world, Uryu, also seems to be getting involved. The Sternritters won’t be as involved as they have been in the previous episodes due to the events and end of the latest episode. Even still, it is going to be interesting to see which Soul Reapers are actually alive after that.

The seventh episode of the final arc saw Yamaji perish at the hands of Yhwach, the Quincy King. The Quincies seemed to have won the war when the only person who could come did come to save the Soul Society- Ichigo Kurosaki. There was a spirited battle between Yhwach and Ichigo as we learned more about Yhwach and Ichigo’s pasts. There was also a flashback to the original Gotei 13.
