Black Widow, Stranger Things’ David Harbour On His Characters Ending Up In Russia

David Harbour became an instant fan favourite as Jim Hopper in Netflix’s supernatural thriller Stranger Things. The actor also plays Red Guardian, aka Alexie, in MCU’s Black Widow. Do you know what’s common between the two? It’s Russia!

In Stranger Things Season 4, we will see how Hopper ended up in Russia after his ‘death’ scene in the third season. In Black Widow, he plays Scarlett Johansson, aka Natasha Romanoff and Florence Pugh, aka Yelena’s father-figure, who’s from Russia.

The Extraction actor was asked about ending up in Russia in two of his biggest projects in an interview. David Harbour told Indian Express, “It’s just a horrible coincidence that I’ve had to pay for… for a year there’s been internet trolling about how Hopper wound up in Russia and then found some super-suit and became the Red Guardian. It’s just a very funny coincidence.”

The Black Widow actor also shared how he tried to keep both the characters different. David says that Alexie has long hair and beard, and in ST 4, Hopper shaves all of his hair and look different.

Earlier, about his character Red Guardian in BW, the actor told USA Today, “He’s stuck in his life and he has tremendous shame, guilt and remorse, but … he’s so invested in his own narcissism that he doesn’t think anything’s wrong. He thinks he’s a big shot, and then the family exposes to him that there’s more to do and that he should overcome (his ego).”

Meanwhile, the Black Widow movie is set to release on Disney Plus on September 3 and will be available for the Indian audience. The film also stars Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh and Rachel Weisz. The MCU film will tell us the back story of Natasha Romanoff and how she became an assassin.

On the other hand, Stranger Things 4 will release in the year 2022 on Netflix. The series also stars Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp and Sadie Sink.
