Probably the most anticipated release in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Black Panther Wakanda Forever teaser sets in motion the series of events we have been eagerly waiting for. After the death of the leading actor of the film, Chadwick Boseman in 2020, it has been a sombre affair not only for Marvel fans but, also for the cinematic universe and the teaser represents it all, leaving us Boseman’s legacy and the question of who will succeed him.
Produced by Marvel Studios, distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and serving as the sequel to the 2018 Black Panther movie, this upcoming release is slated to be the 30th film in the MCU. It is being directed by Ryan Coogler, who co-wrote the screenplay alongside Joe Robert Cole. The film will feature stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira and Winston Duke, reprising in their roles as Shuri, Nakia, Okoye and M’Baku, respectively. Actors Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett are also a part of the sequel.
Black Panther 2 teaser opens with a rendition of No Woman No Cry playing in the background and is followed by some grieving and sad moments all the characters in the film are going through. The teaser does not shy away from making T’Challa’s (Chadwick Boseman) death a prominent theme in its storytelling, making his absence leave a void in the reel as well as the real world. We even get to see a mural in Wakanda built for Boseman and it is one realistic representation.

The teaser makes it certain that the next film in the franchise will focus on who is to take on the mantle after the death of T’Challa. Rumours have put Shuri and Nakia on the contenders’ list and the teaser does not give away the results but, purely builds more anticipation and welcomes more figures who are going to challenge to be on the throne of Wakanda.
We also see Wakanda and Atlantis at war with one another in the teaser. This hint is dropped by the introduction of the character- Namor the Sub-Mariner, played by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta. From a funeral to a far cry for war, Black Panther 2 promises to cover it all.
