Rendered a big winner of the night, this German-language film took away several Academy awards for Best Cinematography, Best International Feature Film, Best Production Design and Best Original Score, and it’s now available on Netflix.
The Whale – Best Makeup and Hairstyling and Best Actor
With Brendan Fraser’s artistic legacy now having been redeemed years later, the A24 movie is selectively streaming on Amazon, Google Movies or Apple TV, and now even on Sony LIV. Availability on each platform varies as per your location. The Whale won the Oscars for the Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Fraser got the Best Actor award for his performance in it.
Black Panther Wakanda Forever
While Angela Bassett may have been snubbed of her award for the Best Supporting Actress for playing the role of the Wakandan Queen, the Marvel Cinematic Universe film scored one win by snagging the award for the Best Costume Design. It’s now streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar, along with its former chapter of the franchise.
The Elephant Whisperers
Raising the Indian flag high at the Oscars 2023, The Elephant Whisperers not only marked the directorial debut of Kartiki Gonsalves, but also her big win as the triumphant leader in the late for of Best Documentary Short Film. Produced by Guneet Monga’s, Sikhya Entertainment, the Indian production is streaming on Netflix.
The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse – Best Animated Short Film
Leading the scene as the Best Animated Short Film at the Oscars tonight, the film directed by Peter Baynton and Charlie Mackesy is written by Jon Croker and Mackesy, and is based on Mackesy’s illustrated graphic book of the same name. You can watch it on Apple TV+.
Avatar The Way of Water – Best Visual Effects
James Cameron’s long-awaited sequel has now been credited by the Academy for its screenplay. Joe Letteri, Richard Baneham, Eric Saindon and Daniel Barrett collected the award for the same on March 12, 2023 at the Dolby Theatre. While the latest instalment of the series is not yet available for streaming, its first movie can be watched on Disney+ Hotstar, so it’s quite likely that the sequel will receive its OTT premiere there soon as well.

Everything Everywhere All At Once
The movie of the year that proved that representation matters, and it becomes even sweeter when the same gets validated by accolades. Everything Everywhere All At Once, now out on Sony LIV, has become the first movie since Slumdog Millionaire‘s winning streak to have won the most number of Academy Awards.
Awards won by the film include Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best Director (The Daniels), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh) and Best Picture.
Top Gun Maverick – Best Sound
