While Jung-pal is getting his hair done at the salon right next to Min Seok-jun’s office, the latter’s assistant rushes in panting for help. He races next door to check on the scene and finds Seok-jun lying dead on the floor. Instantly giving a call to Moo-sik, he informs his boss of everything. Once the body is taken out to the hospital, Moo-sik finally faces his old acquaintance, and is brought to tears upon looking at his condition.
Meanwhile, the CIDG squad and Seung-hoon gather in front of Min’s Consulting firm in Koreatown, Agiles. They try to grasp as much information as possible about the murder. Seung-hoon speaks with Seok-jun’s assistant, a fellow Korean who witnessed the crime first-hand and is still quite traumatised. Eventually skipping to the deceased’s funeral, Moo-sik pays his respects to his senior.

Chil-gu and Yoon-gi are also present at the scene and argue after the funeral, as the latter can’t believe how their shallow talks over drinks were translated to reality. Although he seemingly disapproves of everything, Chil-gu persuades him to tag along to Seok-jun’s office to carry out another secret mission.
While they’re at it, Seok-jun’s assistant walks in and receives a command from Moo-sik over the phone to collect all the contracts kept in the safe. As she gets all the things that have been asked for, she also steals some cash kept inside. Chil-gu and Yoon-gi hide out in the dark, and the former plants a fake contract on top of the heap of other documents to be taken by the assistant, thus succeeding at their task.
Seung-hoon keeps up with his investigation at the Korean desk, where he links Seok-jun’s connection with Moo-sik, but is guided by Mark to play on objectively as he still doesn’t possess any hard evidence to prove his suspicions. Yoon-gi, on the other hand, heads out on a new mission and enrols the help of NBI’s Special Agent Manos to build the same case against Moo-sik.

His friend/partner in crime – Chil-gu, sets up a meeting with Moo-sik, where he’s accompanied by Seok-jun’s assistant as well. Once again, he gets on Moo-sik’s nerves, asking for his share of the contract. Handing out a fake copy of the investment contract, he tries his all to lure Moo-sik into his trap. Seok-jun’s assistant instantly catches his bluff, and pulls out the supposed ‘real’ copy of the contract after he leaves (that was also planted by Chil-gu earlier), calling it a forgery as well.
The NBI takes a step closer as they issue a warrant for Moo-sik’s arrest on the charge of murdering Min Seok-jun despite the lack of any evidence. They even take over the CIDG headquarters and set up office there to commence their operation.
Daniel, the ‘Big Boss’, advises Moo-sik to stay hidden till everything blows over. Simultaneously, the Mayor commands the actual sniper to escape town and not surface before he tells him to.

Chil-gu and Yoon-gi visit Seung-hoon at the police station and discuss the case with him, bringing up the same contract into their conversation. As this is happening, Moo-sik takes a chance and dials up Seung-hoon’s number to meet him the next day. Once they reach the location – a church – Moo-sik gives out the same fake contract that came to be noticed earlier.
He also speaks up about his warm relationship with Seok-jun, only to contrast it with how others treated his senior, hinting at the Chil-gu’s planned attack against Seok-jun, and now him. As Moo-sik is attempting to provide Seung-hoon with a new perspective, the NBI team’s car screech onto the pavement across the same church as they bust in to catch him. He leaves the scene just in time while holding on to the belief that Seung-hoon was in on this secret operation as well.
In order to catch Moo-sik, another plan is executed, as per which a man visits his casino, and claims to offer him a business proposition. Since he’s already in hiding, he steps out to pay him a visit at the hotel restaurant, taking us back to the same scene of Season 1, wherein, Moo-sik was caught by the NBI.

Big Bet Season 2 Episode 4 Ending
As the NBI arrests him, his anger spikes, further putting a lot of pressure on his heart. Manos is left with no choice but to turn the car around in the hospital’s direction. While Moo-sik holds out at the hospital, Daniel threads an escape plan for him, and he willingly forwards the idea of going back to Korea instead.
It seems almost impossible to pull this off since Moo-sik is a foreigner and the crime took place on the Philippines soil. Chil-gu and Yoon-gi stop at nothing inspite of knowing this all, and set up an appointment with a government official to deport him to Korea, and ban him from entering the country ever again. Daniel, too, speaks with the Minister and a conditional press conference is organised before he’s sent back to Korea.
Moo-sik takes the offer, but is ultimately met with a lot of harsh questions that bring up even old murders to the surface and link Moo-sik’s hand at play in those happenings as well. Prior to this, he decides upon transferring all his casino funds to Jung-pal, shifting the chain of command in the Philippines to him, as he hopes to resolve everything back in Korea as well with his visit.

Big Bet Season 2 Episode Review
This latest episode plays out the well-illustrated levels of corruption at play on the Philippines soil, that are further either executed or rebuffed by the stakeholders of the government. By bringing in Manos, the NBI Special Agent, the storyline pits him against two pre-existing representatives of law enforcers – Mark and Seung-hoon. The former is someone who has no choice but to play according to the higher-ups in power, thus giving into the corrupt forces and complying with them. The other takes shape in Seung-hoon, who wants to plays by the book, but ever since his exposure to the truth of systemic failures, he’s taking his time to plan his next move tactfully.
Both his and Manos’ goals are the same – capture Moo-sik for his wrongdoings. However, the latter occupies a larger than life space in this episode with his drive to get to Moo-sik by any means necessary. He also becomes the only one of these three categories of officers who voices out his opinion against the corrupt measures taken by the government officials.
Moreover, Moo-sik’s run-in with Seung-hoon makes for yet another intriguing encounter this time that somehow brings about their unlikely alliance, regardless of how short it may have been. Another aspect that rises to the top prominently with this entry is how the people around Moo-sik perceive his interests to lie solely with money, when clearly that’s not true.
He may appear as the big shot in the Philippines, which he is, but when it comes to protecting his friends, and the people on his side, he doesn’t need another second to ponder over the matter, he straightaway charges in to support them. However, this truth still evades people like Chil-gu and Yoon-gi, who only see him in a singular light.
Big Bet Season 2 Episode 4 is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
