Beyonce is back! Yes, she is back and with a surprise as well. She announced last week that she has a new album coming in July and hinted that she might give a preview of the album to its eagerly awaiting audience and she did. She released her new single Break My Soul two hours before the track was due to drop, leaving the Beyhive in surprise and awe of the song.
Break My Soul is Beyonce’s first single since the announcement of her new album Renaissance. It’s also her first original song since she released Be Alive last year. For this album, she reunited with producers Tricky Stewart and The-Dream, with whom she previously worked on Single Ladies. Also, her husband Jay Z is listed among the songwriters for the track.
The album Renaissance will mark Beyonce’s first solo studio album since Lemonade in 2016. The fans were speculating that something big is coming since the announcement of the album and Queen B also cleared out her social media. This could only mean that new content is coming and it will be soon. The song features two prominent samples that are a modified synth melody from Robin S.’s classic house hit Show Me Love and a vocal lifted from Big Freedia’s Explode, from the 2014 LP Just Be Free.
