Barracuda Queens Season 2 Review
Middle-class people like you and I will never be able to imagine the insanity that is required to go through with half of what these girls do in Barracuda Queens. The second season, full of bigger and bolder pursuits, puts our girls right in the middle of art thefts and cheating boyfriends as they try to uphold their opulent lifestyle without doing anything ethical.
I am still a little confused about what we are supposed to feel for these girls. Is this supposed to be cool and aspirational? Because it certainly feels like that’s what the audience is supposed to feel. However, I have my reservations about finding a burglar cool in any way. It’s interesting how the series showcases only the “cool” parts from the girls’ perspective, but never showcases the destruction that they leave behind when they target people’s hard-earned things and take them away without any regard.

Moreover, Barracuda Queens Season 2 showcases some truly insane things that seemingly 5 young adults are able to pull off, going off against seasoned criminals and whatnot. There’s also a factor of “main character energy” that makes us feel nothing for anyone in the show. All of the characters are morally bankrupt, but the series makes sure to remind us that nothing is ever going to happen to them other than some heartbreak here and there.
For example, there’s one point where Lollo is abducted by seasoned criminals, with guns and all, but just as quickly as she’s abducted, she also runs into her friends’ arms. The police and her friends sweep in in the blink of an eye to save her, lest we see anything other than 5 privileged young women getting anything other than the best or, even worse, the consequences of their actions.

There’s an unbelievability in the series that only comes with tone-deaf shows that will leave you wondering whether to be shocked, confused or infuriated. It’s absurd to see how easily these girls can just buy and sell artworks as if it’s no biggie. And sure, taking place in the 2000s comes with its quirks, but still, things have to be some sort of realistic!
Now, this isn’t to say that Barracuda Queens Season 2 isn’t entertaining. If you can tune off the absurd stupidity and the ease with which these girls get away with things, the series is fast-paced and juicy enough to keep you entertained. If you’re not looking too deeply, the sights and the slights are quite fun and will make you forget about your real-life problems for a few hours. Just tune your brain off and binge.
Final Thoughts

Barracuda Queens Season 2 is stupid and vapid, but it entertains you a whole lot, especially if you tune your brain out. It’s mediocre at best and works wonders if put in the background. There’s nothing in the show that makes it particularly memorable, but hey, if the voices in my brain give me a rest for 3 hours, I’ll take it.
