The 75th EE British Academy Film Awards, aka BAFTA Awards 2022, was held a few hours ago at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Rebel Wilson hosted the event, which saw the presence of many big celebrities. This year, the list of nominations was quite brilliant. From The Power of the Dog to Licorice Pizza, many great movies made it to the nominations list.
The award function was attended by many top celebrities like Tom Hiddleston, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Florence Pugh, Millie Bobby Brown, Benedict Cumberbatch, Salma Hayek, Sophie Okodeni and several others. The full winners’ list is now out.
Benedict Cumberbatch’s The Power of the Dog makes a splash at every award function. After receiving immense critical and audience appreciation and various awards, the film also won the Best Film award at the Bafta Awards 2022. Will Smith won the Leading Actor award for his performance in King Richard. In the animation film category, Disney’s Encanto is the winner.
Kenneth Branagh’s film Belfast won the Outstanding British Film Award. The award for the original screenplay was taken home by the team of Licorice Pizza. Ariana DeBose won the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story.
