2CHAIN made an official debut, and K-Pop fans can see it all happen in the Awake MV. MONSTA X’s Kihyun and Joohoney make up the duo mentioned above. This music video is an OST or original soundtrack for the mobile game SuperStar and will feature the two artists singing and rapping. Viewers can also catch a music video from the game featuring this song below. The music is composed by Kwon Deok-geun, Clovd and Big Gyu. While these three joined as songwriters, they also helped to arrange the song, which was mixed by Ahn Seong-chan.
In this music video, we see Kihyun sing into the microphone, a ballad resounding deep from his voice. However, after a short interlude-like introduction, we are immediately shifted towards Joohoney, who brings all the intensity in this wrap. The format of this video is pretty simple. There are no big set pieces or massive dance sequences. The song seems to have been recorded in real time because the vocalists are putting in all their efforts to make this video one of the best possible OSTs for a game right now.
In the game version of the music video, we see baseball players doing their level best to make sure their team wins and scores home runs while they’re at it. It is truly the upbeat anthem that everyone can groove to while also admiring the athleticism projected on the screen. It takes certain shots from the original music video, but it mostly focuses on the pitchers and batters who are all laser-focused on the ball and making sure that their hits are done well.
This is the first collaboration Kihyun and Joohoney have officially been a part of. Their subgroup is called 2CHAIN, and while they have been releasing popular covers of songs like You and I by CRUSH, Lil Wayne ft. Bruno Mars’ Mirror and many more. This, however, is the first time fans will be able to listen to their voices without starting an elaborate plan involving the band’s Youtube Channel. This song was highly anticipated by the fans because they were incredibly excited to see how their dynamic would play out in the song.
They have been teasing this collaboration since 2017, and now fans can finally take a look at the masterpiece featuring two popular K-pop idols. Always either putting studio records on YouTube or never having a full-on collaboration, this OST gave them both a big push to go in forward in their expectations of a job. MONSTA X first debuted in 2015 through the reality survival programme titled No Mercy. Now there are six members who work together in harmony to create music.
Members of the band include Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M. Last year, Kihyun also released a solo mini-album titled Youth featuring five songs, including Youth, Bad Liar, STARDUST, Where Is This Love and ‘Cause of You. The band, on the other hand, released music in the form of an EP titled REASON.

This mini-album features Beautiful Liar, Daydream, Crescendo, LONE RANGER, Deny, and IT’S ALRIGHT. It came out this year in January under Starship Entertainment. Most recently, the band has also released a single titled SWING, featuring artists like Bun B, Lil Jon, Play-N-Skillz and Symba. The band is also currently performing with ONEUS next at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas, on April 20th.
