Avatar The Way of Water teaser came out recently and, immediately got audiences invested and interested. A story continuing after almost a decade, the teaser drop was a huge hit and, the numbers reflect how big a fanbase the film has. The epic science fiction by James Cameron serves as the sequel to the 2009 film Avatar and, thus is colloquially known as Avatar 2.

Produced by 20th Century Studios, Avatar 2 will mark the return of cast members Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, and Matt Gerald in their original roles from the 2009 film. Sigourney Weaver will also return for this film but, in a different role. There’s also an addition to the existing cast which includes Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, Vin Diesel, and CJ Jones in various roles.

On the release of Avatar The Way of Water teaser, the video gained around 148.6 million views in the first 24 hours with China being a massive contributor to the view rate. However, these views are only for the teaser release on YouTube and other social media platforms. The teaser trailer was first launched before in theatres, where audiences go to see it before the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie began. So, one can only assume the millions of viewers out there, worldwide, who viewed the teaser trailer.

Avatar The Way of Water Teaser Trailer

The trailer description for the film reads: “Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.”

The tentative release date for the film is announced at the end of the teaser which is December 2022. Meanwhile, you can watch the first movie, Avatar now on Disney+ Hotstar.
