Arifureta Season 2 Episode 9 Review- Time To Fight

girls Arifureta Season 2 Episode 9

This might be a different review, solely because it is going to be a positive one. This was a decent episode of the show, and since these scenarios don’t tend to happen a lot with Arifureta, we need to take our time and appreciate the moments when we get to genuinely praise the show. It doesn’t matter if something is superficial or unimportant, if it’s good, it’s good. However, it does say a lot about a show of one needs to preface every compliment with “it’s not a full-time thing, don’t worry”.

The latest episode of Arifureta was a giant action set piece. The show had been building towards a collision course between Hajime and the God of the isekai universe, and this serves as the first confrontation between opposing forces. That’s not all, however, as the Demons have also chosen this specific moment to launch their vengeance inspired attack on Hajime and the party. The enemies are numerous, but so are the overpowered members of Hajime’s group.

Apostle Arifureta Season 2 Episode 9

This leads to the group splitting up and taking on different enemies, which worked like a charm for multiple reasons. For one, it allows them to showcase their powers alone in an isolated setting for the first time since the series started, as the audience finally finds out just how strong they are. Arifureta Season 2 Episode 9 was also good because it gave the spotlight to the most overlooked and underappreciated character of this entire season- Shea.

Shea had a great introduction in season 1, with her arc of being treated as a monster by the world being one of the show’s highlights. Since then, as more and more characters have been introduced in the show, Shea has seen her presence decrease to the point that she was lucky to get one sentence of dialogue in each episode. Thus, her kicking some demon ass in this episode was a fantastic moment, and alongside Yue’s fight, that was the most exciting Arifureta Season 2 has ever been. Hajime is lagging behind his group for now, but he’ll catch up soon enough.

It is also an appropriate time to mention just how good the show’s opening music is. It is sung completely in English by MindaRyn, and it serves as a fittingly epic and groovy start to every episode. It is extremely pleasant and has a great rhythm. The OST and visuals of this season are also strong. Still, every now and again, there are some CGI abominations that threaten to ruin the entire goodwill Arifureta Season 2 has generated so far. It was the best Arifureta has been this season, even though the results of the battles were largely foregone conclusions.

Verdict

Arifureta Season 2 Episode 9 was the best episode of the show so far and featured some great action set pieces alongside some nice dialogue. Let’s see if the show can maintain this momentum through to its end.
