Andor Episode 6: The Eye

Directed by Susanna White and written by Dan Gilroy, Andor Episode 6 is unanimously being called the best episode ever, not only in the series but, also in the entire Star Wars series universe. The latest episode seemed to have it all, starting from a hardcore battle and heist to some emotionally jarring moments that will take some time to recover from.

Andor Episode 6 starts with the group of rebels with Cassian all set to execute their heist. Nemik is jittery, Skeen is friendly with Cassian and Taramyn is distant but, determined to make the heist a success. On the other end, the Imperial employees are preparing for the grand galactic festival, The Eye as the Dhanis thread on the roof of the mountain to see the sacred affair.

Vel and Cinta are in positions and, soon enough, the rest of the team carries out the plan. However, what starts off a high-risk, low-success endeavour, steadily turns into the greatest heist of all time followed by some casualties whose prices the audiences are going to pay emotionally.

With the plan raging with success on one end, we have characters dying left and right on the other, ultimately giving us a true Star Wars-like experience after what seems like a lifetime. Only in this ride, we don’t need the lightsabers to make the battles interesting and Jedis to make things dramatic, all our characters at hand come in harmony to prove how wonderfully Andor is flying high in the sky as a show.

Andor Episode 6 Ending

A lot unravels in Andor Episode 6. In the end, we see that Nemik dies due to his overwhelming wounds and Skeen proposes to Cassian that they split the stolen credits and leave. Cassian does not bat an eyelid before he kills Skeen. On finding Vel, he is honest but, of course, Vel does not take the news very heartily. But, Cassian just wants to take his cut and leave, which he does but, not before handing Vel Nemik’s manifesto.

The happenings at Aldhani reach the Imperial Security Burea in due time and, it is complete chaos. Meanwhile, Luthen gets to know about the success of the rebels in his shop when one customer asks another about the happenings. Luthen feels victorious but, of course, he is yet to be aware of the price the rebels paid to give him his ultimate laugh at the end of Andor Episode 6.

Andor Episode 6: Final Thoughts

There are two ways for Andor to proceed hereon after. First, the show can keep flying high and become grander than ever. Second, this might just be the best the show could offer, so we might need to prepare ourselves for a crashing fall. For the sake of everyone’s favourite Nemik, we hope the former is true.

From CGI to well-laid-out battle scenes, Andor Episode 6 did it all and more. It gave us good music, enough emotional trauma and yet, the last bittersweet laugh over the Empire’s cruelty. The episode was truly magnificent. And, given how we are in the midway of the show, this peak seems worth all the foundations and slow burn the previous episodes offered us.
