Andor Episode 11: Daughter of Ferrix
It is sad how we are almost towards the end of Andor with only one episode to mark the grand finale for this fantastic Star Wars show. And, even as the show nears its conclusion, it does not miss a beat on making its tyrant government statements louder and clearer with a brewing rebellion up in the bushes. Andor Episode 11 does everything in power to make us anticipate where Cassian will end up ultimately as we also deeply start getting scared about how cruel the Empire is getting with every passing episode.
As Cassian is out of Narkina Five with Melchi, it is only natural for him to return to Ferrix. But, what waits for him there is something that makes the audience scream at him to do otherwise. With Cassian gone, his adoptive mother, Maarva has passed away leaving even the charming droid, B2EMO in loneliness and pain. We have Meero using it for her benefit to lay a trap for Cassian by conducting Maarva’s funeral to lure the Empire’s fugitive in.
Another person desperately waiting for Cassian, apart from Meero has to be Vel and Syril. Vel was tasked to kill Cassian, so that might very well be the reason she sees his anticipated return to Ferrix as an opportunity. Linus, meanwhile, informs Syril too about Cassian’s return which prompts him to steal credits from his mother and take a murderous trip to Ferrix. Luthen also heads for Ferrix, in hopes of something we are still not sure about.

Andor Episode 11 Ending
The ending of Andor Episode 11 is dedicated to showing how Luthen ends up in Ferrix. After a goodbye filled with tension to Saw, Luthen communicated with Kleya over the distance about Cassian’s return and his fear that our lone hero might switch sides. Kleya informs him about Vel and Cinta’s motives to head to Ferrix and before things could be cleared out more, Luthen’s transmission is cut off by the Segra-Milo Imperial Patrol. Luthen tries to lie his way out after getting held up by the Imperial ship but, ultimately attacks them before doing a space jump to Ferrix.
It is at the end of the episode, Cassian learns about Maarva’s death which completely shatters him. This also leaves him in the moral dilemma that might be the reason for his death which is if he should attend Maarva’s funeral or not, fully knowing the threats waiting for him.
Andor Episode 11: Final Thoughts
Andor Episode 11 has given us quite the build-up for the season finale but, we can’t help but wonder if we could just have a little more, right? From Mon and Luthen’s compromise to everyone’s hunt for Cassian to Andor’s dilemma, all screams of the cruel manifesting the Empire has done on each and everybody. The show with its dystopian setting never stops getting real which is what makes each and every episode stand out in its own way.
