The new Netflix docuseries Ancient Apocalypse has been receiving wide attention from the netizens, even since its release. The archaeology-based six-part documentary made some serious revelations about pre-historic human beings and the truth about their lost civilizations. Moreover, the series is hosted by British Author and former Journalist Graham Hancock, who rose to prominence through his pseudo-scientific theories.
The series is filled with the mention of a lost civilization, that was supposedly way ahead of its time. Hanock presents a one-sided explanation of its existence and also takes us on the ground for more details. However, the former journalist relies more on words than on hard-hitting facts.
Notably, historians and experts in the field have disagreed with Graham’s pseudo claims, and also mentioned his theories to be baseless. Although one might appreciate Graham’s dedication at his age without any seed of truth, it’s all pseudo-science.
Despite all the scientific inaccuracies, Graham’s documentary series has found the rhythm with its audience. Not only are they interested in the theories, but are also quick to dismantle someone who’s not. The polarizing appeal of the show isn’t surprising, given Hancock’s approach to conventional truth.
Notably, the series took a total of two years to complete. And involves interviews with several seasoned professionals from the same field. Even though many disagree with Graham’s point of view, they are all indulged in an intriguing conversation with the former journalist.
The series has a rather peculiar style of demonstration. It begins with the words of Graham’s critique, and then shifts to a new archaeology site in each episode, to stress his theoretical points. Even though there is no hard truth about the concept, the intrigue of revelations soaks you in with the series. Furthermore, some of the episodes end on a surprising note, even for Graham, who finds the evidence to be really shocking and groundbreaking.
Each episode of the series has received mixed reactions from the netizens, with some aligning with the views of the labelled pseudoscientist. While others dismantle the chunk of fact-less history, that the author presents through his interviews and on-site explorations. Notably, our own review of the series received many polarising comments, which we have included below.

It’s really not that controversial or pseudoscientific, and I don’t understand the saltiness of these archaeologists, or this journalist for that matter.
Let’s remember that those who present thoughts that contradict the accepted paradigm are always ridiculed. Until they are accepted later as fact. This is all worth exploring with proper funding and attention, and those that say otherwise are guilty of the same hubris that has afflicted humanity for centuries.
Right?!?
Whoever put this article together will never persuade me from having an open mind, and that there’s more in history that still remains to be unknown and undiscovered.
