Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Episode 1 Recap
In the premiere episode of this charming new rom-com anime, we meet Alya, a high school student of Russian origin whose striking looks and magnetic personality make her a standout at school. However, she is a classic Tsundere, struggling to convey her true feelings and often coming across as aloof and intimidating, especially as a member of the student council. Despite her icy exterior, Alya shows a warmer, more playful side to her classmate Kuze, a likeable otaku who sits next to her.

The unique twist in their relationship is Alya’s occasional use of Russian to express her hidden romantic feelings, assuming Kuze doesn’t understand her. Unbeknownst to her, Kuze actually comprehends her words perfectly, thanks to his childhood friend who spoke Russian. Out of consideration, he keeps this knowledge to himself to spare Alya from embarrassment.
This episode was light and entertaining, focusing on the delightful interactions between Alya and Kuze. The plot remains straightforward, avoiding any overly complex elements while still managing to captivate with its character dynamics.
