Love Life
Love Life was one of the most fan-followed shows on the streaming platform, that was cancelled for a third season this year. The official announcement of discontinuing the anthological romantic drama came very recently and left many netizens clueless. Some were even left in shock, as to why HBO Max cancelled this critically acclaimed show in the first place.
There were a total of two seasons of the show, with Anna Kendrick and William Jackson Harper leading the first and second respectively. Morever, the show had a total of twenty episodes in its two-year run, before coming to an unexpected halt.
Minx
Minx was another fine show that suffered the brunt of cancellation by the streaming platform. Set around the early 70s, the story of the show revolved around Joyce (played by Ophelia Lovibond), an enthusiastic feminist who decides to start the first, one-of-a-kind, erotic magazine.
The series further features Joyce hustling her way to success, along with her editor. The show only ran for one season and was also greenlit for a second instalment, right before the cancellation.

FBoy Island
Even though cancellation is something that everyone regrets, some shows really deserve a short span of the telecast. And Fboy Island perfectly fitted the bill for it. The reality show revolved around the concept of date or lose, where three women get the chance to decide the nice guy for themselves, from a list of 24 men. Moreover, the show ran for a total of twenty episodes in two seasons.
Westworld
Apart from the usual cancellation spree, no one expected Westworld to go off production this year, after the official announcement. Regarded as one of the most critically acclaimed shows of all time, the sci-fi series was cancelled after a total of four seasons and thirty-six episodes.
The Nevers
The Nevers revolved around a group of victorian women, who gain control of mysterious superpowers, that eventually impacts the future of the world. Even though the premise of the drama series was interesting and engaging, it never got a chance to expand beyond the first season.
Los Espookys
Created by veterans of Saturday Night Live, (Fred Armisen and Lorne Michael), this Spanish-language horror series revolved around a group of friends, that decided to elevate their passion for horror, into something eccentric. Moreover, the show recently premiered its third season, before the surprising cancellation.

Degrassi The Next Generation
The official reboot of Degrassi didn’t fare well on the platform and had a relatively short span of broadcast. Furthermore, the series was already far behind the popularity of the original and failed to even get a chance to showcase its true potential. Notably, the show was also part of the few series that were cancelled in the first wave, by the platform.
Legendary
The purge of HBO Max cancellations continued with Legendary, a show about an underground ballroom community making it through all odds to win the ultimate cash prize. Furthermore, the series ran for a total of three seasons before finally getting axed this year.
Little Ellen
Popular daytime television host Ellen DeGeneres presented the spin-off version of her animated show in the last season. However, the series made for kids and the under-age audience was eventually cancelled in August 2022, with a limited runtime of just one season.
