Alchemy of Souls is one of the most exciting ongoing Kdramas right now and this show has shown why it is one that cannot be missed. Starring Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, alongside other cast members. Episode after episode the series has shocked wowed and excited us with its plot which keeps revealing a new secret every time.
The plot has done a wonderful job of balancing the story of the characters and bringing out their essence while also keeping enough secrets that can be revealed in the upcoming episodes. The show has definitely made us fall in love with the main leads but it has also got us hooked on the other roles.
Falling in love with Jang Uk, Mu-deok and Seo Yul was not hard, but making us fall in love with Park Jin, Kim Do-ju, Park Don-gu, the crown prince Go Won, and others is what only this show can do. So here is a list of 5 favourite characters from the show that we can’t help falling in love!
Alchemy of Souls: 5 Characters We Adore
Mu-deok
The woman who has our hearts as well as the hearts of three men- Jang Uk, Seo Yul and the crown prince Go Won. The lovely, strong and flexible character who knows how to act in any given situation. She is not only able to handle every situation but is also able to manipulate the characters so smoothly that we can’t help but love it.
Being a mix of two really badass characters- Naksu and Jin Bu-yeon, this character is bound to be OP because the two ladies have the same enemy. With Naksu’s magic and Jin Bu-yeon’s divine powers, this character is bound to get more amazing. Jung So-min has done a wonderful job in this role by showing the emotions of helplessness, love, betrayal, superiority, flattering and so on.
Jang Uk
The guy who is able to see into the hearts of others and will take place in your heart so easily that you will not know when it happened. This young master of a prominent family is not as happy as he seems as he carries a tragic past and a mysterious birth. Jang Uk is definitely among the best male leads out there because he is a heroic figure who is ready to give his all for love.
While the world keeps hurting him, he is burdened with the fate of saving it. With no choice but to step up on the frontline to save it from chaos, he will do it even if his life is on the line. That is how good his heart is, I mean how else could he have melted the heart of the assassin Naksu.
Seo Yul
The loveliest boy on this show who will give his all for the ones he loves. This talented mage is no genius like Jang Uk, but his talent makes him among the best. However, his talent and good looks aren’t the only reason why he is among the most beloved characters. It is his pure heart that will endure the pain of hiding the truth for Naksu and Jang Uk, while also bearing the burden of not being able to give the former a better life.
His love for Naksu started before any of the other male characters and it has managed to stay that way for years.
Crown Prince Go Won
The third guy who has been wooed by Mu-deok and definitely the one with the least chance of winning. This silly but righteous crown prince is slowly creeping into our hearts with his personality that is able to differentiate right from wrong. He knows his responsibilities and won’t back out from investigating the queen when he senses that there is something wrong.
He may have been manipulated by Mu-deok into a few things but he has done them because he wanted to and not because of Mu-deok. He is smart and is able to figure out the situation very easily. His responsibility towards being a crown prince and his moments with Mu-deok and Jang Uk let us know the kind of person he is.

Park Jin
The man who has in a way become the father figure of Jang Uk who has been missing out because of Jang Kang. However, due to certain reasons, he cannot completely take over this role as he is also the head of Songrim. He wants to do what is right for Jang Uk, but the latter’s rebellious nature only makes things harder for him.
This level-headed leader is exuding charisma in such situations, and his blockheaded behaviour in front of Kim Do-ju only adds to it. He really has no sense when it comes to romance and is struggling with wooing Kim Do-ju, which has only become harder since the entry of master Lee.
