Later, the same character evolved to become a freedom fighter against the backdrop of the Quit India Movement in 1942. It is a fictional story that, by an initial presence, seems to be about an illegal radio at the time. She is seen to come under fire for the things she has said.
The film is directed by Kannan Iyer, who has also joined as a writer on the film along with Darab Farooqui. Sara Ali Khan has expressed her happiness working with Dharmatic Entertainment with this film. She also mentions how honoured she is to take up a role like this as an actor and as an Indian. She also goes on to praise the director for the passion and creativity he brings to the film. While recognising that this is a character she hasn’t done before, she is excited to bring her expertise in this and play a freedom fighter.
This film may be hypothetical for most people, but Karan Johar has expressed that he is happy that an underrated story of the freedom fighters is seen in this way. This announcement confirms that the movie has begun filming.
