Accused Ending Explained

The film starts with respected gynaecologist Geetika finding out that she is being accused of sexual misconduct at her very cushy job, resulting in her being put on paid leave. Things immediately start to unravel at home, as her partner, Meera, is confused and concerned for her, trying to get to the bottom of the situation with Geetika. However, it goes nowhere as Geetika is uninterested in letting her in. As a result, their plans start to get hampered as they are denied the opportunity to adopt a baby, and Geetika starts to pull away from Meera.

Meera, as a result, realises that something is amiss after she catches her in a lie and hires a private investigator to look into her partner’s life. Elsewhere, the accusations keep piling up against Geetika, and HR appoints a third-party investigator to get to the bottom of the situation.

Did Geetika sexually harass anyone?

Although we are made to feel time and time again that Geetika has something sinister to hide, it turns out that she did, in fact, not sexually harass anyone and was just simply power hungry, going after everyone who made a mistake and taking vicious action against them. As a result, her colleagues disliked her. There were also a few miscommunications with past colleagues, and she did try to ask an ex to put in a good word for her, but as far as we can see, she did not harm anyone under her care.

In a surprising twist, we see that one of her colleagues, Dr Logan, was the one making the false accusations. She works with a friend to figure out where the emails were coming from and realised that they were all fake. As a result, she followed the trail and, with a little help from Meera, she was able to get to David Brown, a man being treated for cancer at her hospital under Dr Logan’s care.

As it turns out, Dr Logan was jealous of Geetika’s success and did not believe that she deserved to be the dean because she was young and a woman. As a result, he concocted this plan to get her fired and take her position for himself. Thankfully, though, Geetika is able to solve the puzzle and bring everything to the police, saving her reputation.
