After much noise around the release of Florence Pugh and Harry Styles starring Don’t Worry Darling, the movie is finally set to release in theatres this week. In some parts of the world, it’s already out while others still await their turn to weigh in if the hype was all worth it or not.
Directed by Olivia Wilde, the film’s name has been cloaked under the various controversies surrounding its cast. Nevertheless, its premier at the Venice Film Festival earlier in September put the Florence Pugh acclamation parade into motion as critics couldn’t stop raving about its leading actress.
While the story itself took a back seat in these remarks, it was mostly the actors who were accorded by the critics’ eyes. The Plot/Storyline
Alice and Jack lead ideal and perfect lives together in the 1950s, living alongside the community of Victory, a company town harboring all those men who’re involved in a “top-secret project”. The seeming beauty of their community arises out of the stark differences between the husbands and wives, where the former work day in and out, while their wives dip their feet in the paradisiacal opulence they possess.
However, it’s all revealed to be a mere silver lining soon and Alice can’t help but look into the hidden mysteries of Victory and her role in all of it.
