The early reactions are loud, desi, slightly unhinged and very much in the Mirzapur movie language: bhaukaal, paisa vasool, madness and “bhai kya dekh liya?” energy.
People Have Been Entertained
If there is one word that keeps floating around in the early reactions, it is “entertainment”.
X user @neetesh_45_ called the film “Full paisa vasool vibes,” praising the Mirzapur swag, drama and madness, while another user @MrinSahu went for the much more slang version, “Bhaukaal movie hai bhai”, while giving it four stars.
Honestly, that might be the most Mirzapur review with no 400-word thesis: no breakdown of the screenplay architecture.
User @AkashChadhaar called it a winner and wrote, “#Mirzapur : The Movie. After dhurandhar this one is THE WINNER .”
Munna Bhaiya’s Return is Clearly THE Event
Under all the noise is a very obvious reason for excitement: Munna Bhaiya is back. For a character whose exit became one of the defining emotional moments of Mirzapur, his return was always going to be treated like an event, and X proved it.
User @WorshipRohit pointed directly at the “craze for Munna Bhaiya’s return,” calling the movie the second-biggest movie of the year based on that excitement.
@TheCinemaGossip basically went full nostalgia watching the film. For them, seeing Munna Bhaiya immediately brought back the old Mirzapur feeling: the acting, attitude, and everything around.
It is probably the secret sauce: you do not just recognise the characters but remember what it felt like to watch them. Munna’s swagger is not simply a performance anymore, and it has become part of the show’s pop-culture vocabulary.
Guddu Bhaiya Has His Spotlight
This is not just a Munna Bhaiya comeback party. X user @ShwetaChowdhury summed up her experience rather articulately: “Came for Guddu Bhaiya, stayed for Ali Fazal’s performance “ further adding that he understood the assignment.
Guddu has always been one of the emotional engines of Mirzapur, but bringing him into a theatrical setting gives Ali Fazal a much larger spectrum to showcase himself.
Another user, @rakeshrok20, also highlighted the racing sequences between Munna Bhaiya and Guddu Bhaiya, calling it a source of nostalgia and predicting blockbuster status for the film.
The reactions suggest that the familiarity is not making the movie stale.
Ravi Kishan Walks in and Changes the Energy
One of the more interesting reactions comes from a user @Luselioness_, who gave the film 3.5 stars and wrote, “#Mirzapur Plot: Babban Babua Yadav (Ravi Kishan) schemes to overthrow Kaleen Bhaiya under the cover of a business deal. “
According to the reaction, his arrival breathes new life into the story, giving the narrative a punch and energy, and this is where the movie seems to be doing something smarter than simply being built on the nostalgia currency.
There are old faces, but with a new current.
The Ensemble is Not Getting Equal Screen Time
Not every reaction is screaming with excitement. User @ArunudoyB described the film as “Munna & Guddu film” while praising Jitendar Kumar and Ravi Kishan.
There is also a notable observation: “Pankaj Tripathi – Kalin Bhaiiya role was limited. “
This is interesting because Kalin Bhaiya is almost inseparable from the identity of Mirzapur. Pankaj Tripathi’s presence has been one of the biggest attractions, so a film that shifts its core to Munna and Guddu naturally changes the juices of the universe. It does not mean that the film is doing less, but just that it is different.
There is also an apparent warning. Another user, @jaiswal_adt, posted first, revealing that the film has a post-credits scene and then sharing footage of people around because nobody wanted to risk leaving too early.
Here, Mirzapur gave more than what the audience expected.
User @anaygond26 singled out Meena Bhabhi and Bauji in one scene and praised the dialogue, “Sher ki umar zyada hai, lekin budha nahi hua”.
