The episode kicks off with Megumi and Panda taking down several tournament participants and successfully breaking into their base. Once they reach the rooftop, they’re stopped by Kirara. It doesn’t take her long to sense that Hakari could be in trouble, so she immediately calls to warn him about the intruders. Megumi attempts to reason with her, explaining that he’s no longer aligned with Jujutsu High. Through this exchange, we also learn more about Hakari’s history. His techniques were considered too unconventional, and the conservative higher-ups didn’t approve, which ultimately led to his departure.

Megumi and Panda try to convince Kirara that Gojo Satoru has been sealed and that they desperately need Hakari’s help. But the claim sounds so unbelievable that she refuses to accept it. With no other option left, Megumi decides to push forward by force, leading to a clash with Kirara. The fight is gripping, especially as it reveals more about her unique ability. Still, what truly stands out is MAPPA’s stunning animation.

The studio elevates every moment with dynamic techniques that make each frame feel alive and almost surreal. The final segment, featuring the heated confrontation between Yuji and Hakari, feels nothing short of cinematic. Each movement is animated with precision and care, making the action sequences incredibly striking.

This episode begins with Geto appearing in Sasaki’s dream and asking her whether she wants to stay inside the barrier or go outside of it. When she chooses to go outside of it, we see him leading her towards the exit while massive monstrous curses roam around. Geto then thanks Sasaki for looking after his son, obviously meaning Yuji.

On the other hand, Yuji finally manages to convince the Hakari to help him out. Hakari makes it clear that he is not helping them because he wants to, but rather, he wants Yuji’s help as well. Once the culling game ends, he wants to revise the jujutsu regulations. For that, he even makes friends with Megumi, who also readily agrees to help him out. But something interesting happens, suddenly Yuji gets the news that he is already counted as a player for the culling game. This means that there’s a high chance that Sukuna used to be a sorcerer who made a contract with Kenjaku and became a cursed object in the process.

The episode also puts forward the basis for the next few episodes. After this, Yuji and his friends will have to hunt for Hajime Kashima and Hiromi Higuruma so that they can end the game as soon as possible. With everything set, Yuji finally enters the barrier and begins his Culling game.

This episode was very, very interesting as it gives us a rundown of what we can expect in the Culling game. We also saw just how ruthless players can get right from the beginning. But the highlight of this episode is, as always, the breathtaking animation that is going past my expectations every week.
