One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 8 Review: We Got More Movements!

The 8th episode of the highly anticipated One Punch Man Season 3 is here, and I was quite impressed with the mediocre yet decent animation. Let’s see how it turned out.

One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 7 Recap

The episode kicks off with the S-class and A-class heroes storming the villains’ hideout, ready to take on whatever comes their way. At first, everyone assumes the A-class heroes will drag the team down, but they quickly shut that idea down by proving they can hold their own. They sweep through the weaker monster grunts with ease, buying the S-class fighters valuable time and conserving their stamina for the real threats. Still, it becomes obvious that the monsters planned this. The weakest creatures were tossed out first, not to win, but to slowly chip away at the heroes’ energy.

That strategy becomes clear when a tougher second wave arrives. One standout among them is the Rhino Wrestler, who proves to be a nightmare matchup, as he overpowers almost every A-class hero without breaking much of a sweat. Gyoro Gyoro watches the chaos unfold from a distance, only for Atomic Samurai to step in and challenge him. Their clash plays out exactly the way fans would expect from two heavyweights, and it definitely becomes one of the standout moments in the episode.

And yet, Atomic Samurai isn’t the only S-class hero showing off. As soon as the top-tier fighters begin to move, the power gap becomes undeniable. Flashy Flash, true to his name, moves with such blistering speed that nobody can even track him.

One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 8 Review

The heroes are finally infiltrating the Monster Association, and right off the bat, Flashy Flash gets his job done with ease. However, after defeating them, Flashy Flash meets Gail Wind and Hellfire Flame, who are actually from the ninja village and have come to join the Monster Association of their own volition. They prove to be far more difficult to handle than other monsters, as they take Flashy Flash to a dungeon, and there they fight relentlessly.

It is apparent that they know each other, and their animosity runs deep, as they have ties from the past. Later, it gets revealed that both these ninjas have recently become monsters and are not up to the optimal speed yet. This is why they push Flashy Flash into the dungeon to get an open space and manage to fight the hero on their own terms. Their fight concludes in an alarmingly one-sided way, and now Flashy Flash goes on his own journey as the tracker that has been keeping track of him for the Child Emperor gets broken.

Later, we get to see the escapades of the Child Emperor, who finally gets the location of the kidnapped child. At first, I thought that Child Emperor was just very good at making gadgets. But in this episode, it becomes clear that he is also a very capable fighter. He very easily takes down multiple monsters without breaking a sweat.

Verdict

Today’s episode had more animation than ever before. However, it is not pristine or very clear. It seems very obviously choppy, with not a very seamless transition between the action choreography. Yet, it is better than what we have been seeing, and for that, I will say this episode deserves respect.
