My Hero Academia Final Season Episode 8 Recap

The episode opens with Deku’s entire class rushing in to back him during the final showdown. Even All For One has a moment of grim reflection, realizing the hollow ache of losing his brother for good, and in his mind, that pain becomes fuel, letting him unleash everything he has left. One after another, heroes take their shot at stopping him, and soon Shoto and Endeavour join the fray. Fresh off their battle with Toya, they skip any chance to rest and dive straight in to support Deku.

The battlefield is absolute chaos. All For One barrels through every attempt to slow him down, shrugging off attacks as he morphs into an even more terrifying form. With no other option, the heroes make a collective stand: they throw themselves in harm’s way, turning their bodies and wills into a shield to clear a path for Deku.

It’s a powerful moment. Each hero pushes themselves to the limit, and All For One finally understands that what he sees as Deku’s “weakness” is actually the source of his strength, the reason people rally around him when it counts. Surrounded by support, trust, and the final hopes of everyone behind him, Deku delivers his strongest strike yet.

It has already been one week since the final battle, and the work of restoration is going on at full scale. Many countries are also supporting the heroes of Japan in rebuilding everything that has been destroyed. But at the same time, we get to know that Bakugo’s hand might not recover to its former rate ever again. He also gets told that if he wants to continue working as a hero, he can choose to wear a prosthetic limb like Mirko. But Bakugo declines that and asserts that he will go through physical therapy.

Deku also wakes up from his sleep, and we get to see that he regrets the fact that he could not save Tenko. At least, he understands that he saved Tenko psychologically, in the end. However, Deku lost his powers, and Bakugo found out about it. Hearing this, he becomes absolutely devastated and even starts crying. All Might manages to console both of them with his encouraging words.

Later, we see the graduation ceremony happening at the UA school and the third years passing out. The mood of this graduation ceremony is more happy than sad, but at the same time, Mirio delivers a powerful speech that moves everyone to tears.

However, the biggest highlight of this episode will have to be the last meeting between all the Todoroki family members. It was tragic but also emotional, and at the same time very uplifting.

I absolutely loved today’s episode, and it is difficult for me to accept the fact that My Hero Academia is finally ending its run. There is still another episode to go, but I will definitely miss this shonen anime very much, and I hope the author comes back with another story soon.
