Ms Incognito Episode 7 Recap

The episode starts with Don getting a phone call from someone threatening to take So-young’s life if he doesn’t bring Yeong-ran to them. However, Don refuses to give in and tells them to do whatever they want. Elsewhere, Seon-yeong has So-young captive and asks her to kill her daughter to save herself. It’s a desperate situation, one that will pit a mother against her daughter.

Meanwhile, as if times couldn’t be worse, Seon-woo is captured in a psychiatric facility that gives him flashbacks to his own father going through the exact same ordeal. In a touching move, in Muchang, Dong-min installs lights around Yeong-ran’s home to keep her safe and starts to run in the mornings with her as well. Back in Seoul, Don visits Seon-woo and proposes joining forces with him against Seon-yeong and although he initially disagrees, his mind changes when he shows him his hospital admission form.

In Muchang, Yeong-ran wows the parents of her students with her teaching methods but the positive vibes are disturbed when So-young suddenly barges into the classroom. Of course, she immediately starts to ask her questions and even takes pictures of Yeong-ran and Dong-min and sending them to Seon-yeong. Yeong-ran keeps an eye on her with the help of the hidden cameras in her home and wonders what her intentions are.

In Seoul, Seon-yeong forces the directors to sign a loyalty pledge after threatening to hurt their children while Don gets Seon-woo out of the hospital as Seon-yeong’s men follow them. He eventually ditches Don to get away, but gets into an accident. Meanwhile, Seon-yeong employs the hitman to get rid of Yeong-ran as a last-ditch effort.

This is the most disappointing turn of events in a drama I have seen in quite some time as nothing of significance really happens and things just slowly become a slice of life/rom-com. Ms Incognito‘s first two episodes were the most tense watch but right after that, it took a sharp, unnecessary turn that made the entire series half-baked and dissipated the tension. Now, it just feels like things are happening without rhyme or reason, or because they must have some stupid thing happening that gets resolved in 5 minutes. It’s so disappointing.
