Typhoon Family Episode 4 Recap

After inviting Mi-seon to work as a trader for Typhoon Trading, Tae-poong is in an upbeat mood as he decides to revamp the company and bring it out of its sad state. Thinking of next steps, he meets Bak-ho in hopes that he’d send the fabric back to its original company, but Bak-ho asks him to sell the company to him instead. Tae-poong, of course, refuses, and as if by great luck, he got a huge load of his fabric back, thanks to one of the truck drivers who had kept it with him to help Tae-poong.

As if things couldn’t get better, they get Ma-jin to dupe Pyo Merchant Marine into buying the fabric, which is missing 10% of the quantity and eventually blackmail the company to pay them to buy the fabric from them. Enjoying a rare win, the two head to Busan to create new partnerships and find new opportunities. He eventually decides to sell some shoes that he randomly found while walking around in Busan.

Optimistic for their future, Tae-poong and Mi-seon get closer to one another, unaware that in Seoul, he has lost his house and must vacate with his mother. With nowhere to go, they end up spending the night at the office. After his mother falls asleep, Tae-poong plans his next move, but will things finally fall into place for him, especially when Bak-ho seems to be desperately trying to destroy everything in his life?

Typhoon Family Episode 4 continues to be enjoyable, but it’s so depressing to watch Tae-poong go through one terrible thing after another. I just can’t understand why so much misfortune must come down on him and need him to catch a break. Hopefully, the end is near, but with 12 more episodes, that seems highly unlikely. I am holding on simply because of his relationship with Mi-seon, because she’s just such a positive influence on him. Her kindness leaves the viewers feeling warm, and that’s fantastic.
