The movie depicts a love story about an old woman who suddenly gets hurt after some intruders shoot her, but they also die in the process. Apparently, this is not new, and it has happened before as well, where many would die at that house, and every time, the woman, Lilia, will be there. But she does not live alone, as there is a young man with long hair who also accompanies her. This man is also an enigma himself, and when the nurse asks Lilia about her relationship with him, she gleefully confessed that he was her boyfriend.

No, the woman is not senile because he is indeed an ageless man, Matias, who is something similar to a vampire. He can shapeshift, turn into a cat, and viciously attack humans for their blood. But Matias is not a mindless monster who just goes on hunting for no reason, as there are times when he completely loses his composure whenever someone tries to harm Lilia.  Thus, through Lilia’s memories, we get to explore their past, where we see how Matias protected her throughout her life.

Later, we get to witness that Matias is not the only vampire within the city, as there are others like him. They try to live lives as normally as possible, and because they cannot go outside in the sun, they try to survive within their limited conditions without anyone noticing. Their situation is not as tragic as Matias because they know very well not to mingle with humans. Matias, who falls hopelessly in love with Lilia, is unable to leave her after being in her life for so long. He always craved human interaction, and after getting Lilia’s kindness, he just could not stop himself.

Even when Lilia tried to move on in her life and be with someone else, Matias remained around and always looked out for her. She also helped him gain a much more sustainable option for obtaining blood than just killing people. They made each other better, and due to the positive influence of Lilia, Matias started to live a normal life. But time is one of their biggest constraints, and that essentially becomes the ultimate villain.

Though the premise is interesting, where a vampire is living with his elderly lover because she does not want a cursed life like his, the execution falls short. The cinematography is not excellent, and the supernatural bits look gimmicky and over-the-top. It will make you as much cringe as it did with Twilight. The ending was also predictable as it did not offer something extraordinary, and the narrative was very simple, even though they tried to design the beginning as a mystery.

Verdict

This is a decent one-time watch that anyone can see if they like supernatural monster-human romances. It is a short film, so it will also not take much time to finish, so do check it out and see for yourself whether you like it or not.
