Dandadan Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

In this episode, a brand-new character made his debut, and his name is Kinta, a fellow classmate of Okarun. Much like Okarun in his earlier days, Kinta keeps to himself and doesn’t have many friends. He’s often buried in his sci-fi magazines during class, which makes him stand out as a bit of a geek. Still, there’s one key difference between the two, as Okarun’s popularity with the girls has grown, while Kinta hasn’t had the same kind of luck.

This odd contrast sparks something in Kinta, leading him to boldly declare Okarun as his rival. The humor really comes through when Kinta tries to join in on conversations, attempting some crude jokes, only to be shut down immediately. Meanwhile, Okarun and Momo can discuss “balls” without any issue, though clearly not in the way Kinta assumes. His inability to catch on to the situation makes the scene even funnier. To top it off, we learn that Kinta was actually present during Momo and Okarun’s kiss back in episode 5, leaving him stunned at the unexpected sight.

The real momentum of the story, however, comes in the latter half. Momo and Okarun finally track down Okarun’s missing balls, now mysteriously floating inside a building. When they set out to reclaim them, Kinta secretly tails behind, witnessing everything that unfolds. But retrieving the ball isn’t as straightforward as it’s protected by an eerie force that violently attacks anyone who dares to get close.

Today’s episode showcases the Kaiju monster that relentlessly attacks Momo and her friends. This is a bizarre scenario for them because the Kaiju is actually an alien, and it even grows huge in size. Sensing the danger, Aira and Jiji also come to the scene and find their friends running away from the Kaiju. Aira decides to stay back and help with the fight, while Jiji takes Kinta and runs. At first, Aira fares pretty well against the Kaiju, but it soon starts to attack her.

Here, a fight ensues with the leads, and they struggle a lot against the monster. On the other hand, Kinta accidentally lets his sweat onto the skin of Jiji and makes the Evil Eye come out. Evil Eye then becomes very excited that he will get to fight with Okarun, and he heads to Momo’s house to prepare for that.

Back into the fight scene, Momo, Okarun, and Aira finally decide that they cannot continue their attacks against the monster, so they run from that place. Now this is a very dangerous situation because Seiko is also not home, so they come up with a plan by themselves. Okarun mentions how Momo’s house is made up of Nanoskin, which can be modified into many things if somebody has the power to imagine it. Kinta comes to the rescue, and he showcases how he will contribute to the anime.

Dandadan Season 2 Episode 11: Still

This episode was fun, but the fighting sequences of this season are getting pretty dragged out. It is suffering from occasional pacing issues, and that becomes very clear whenever they spend too much time on fights that can end quickly. Hopefully, they will try not to do this very often.
