The episode opens with viewers being taken to 1999 when we see actress Im Se-ra enjoying massive popularity onscreen. While fans pine for her, we see Dokgo Cheol working away in the office. Just then, a man comes in to the station to file a complaint against Se-ra, leaving everyone shocked. The responsibility falls on Dokgo Cheol but Se-ra refuses to take responsibility, telling him that her father is behind this. It’s 2025 and Se-ra wakes up disoriented and is unaware of the time that has passed. She thinks that it’s still 1999 and is shocked when the doctor tells her that it’s 2025. She got into an a accident last night that damaged her brain resulting in retrograde amnesia. At first, she thinks that it’s a prank but when she sees the TV, she can’t help but be confronted with the reality of her situation. Although she sees the truth, she is unable to believe it. Still confused, she walks out of the hospital into oncoming traffic and thankfully Cheol saves her.

An interesting start to the drama, My Troublesome Star promises interesting twists and turns. Although I thought that Se-ra is waking up after a 25 year coma, I was shocked to learn about a second accident. With plenty of questions about where she was for the last two decades to who caused the accident in 1999, the drama might just be a thrilling and emotional journey. But, only time will tell how this one turns out!
