The episode picks up with Gojo and Marin meeting Himeno, and their conversation offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of cosplay. Through Himeno, we learn some surprising details, like how it’s possible to achieve a fuller chest appearance without traditional padding. He takes them to a specialised cosplay store, introducing them to a wide array of materials and makeup essentials used in crafting authentic looks.

Gojo is especially attentive, curious about how Himeno is able to present so convincingly as a woman. His interest is sincere, stemming from a desire to understand the art and confidence behind Himeno’s transformation. The trio later attends a lively cosplay convention, where they enjoy themselves among like-minded individuals freely expressing their passions.

We also delve into Himeno’s personal journey. He shares how he once struggled with his appearance and self-image, feeling dismissed and insecure. It wasn’t until he discovered makeup and the joy of dressing up that he began to embrace his identity with confidence. For a time, things seemed to be going well, even romantically, but his relationship ended when his partner couldn’t accept him for who he was.

This emotional moment resonates deeply with Gojo, who begins to see aspects of his own struggles reflected in Himeno. While Gojo tries to hide, Himeno stands firm in his own self-worth, which may just be the inspiration Gojo needs to grow more confident himself.

This episode begins with some interesting news for Marin, who can participate in a beauty pageant in her school and cosplay at the same time. The thing is, this beauty competition will be a crossdressing one where one must dress as their opposite sex and impress the members of their own sex with a performance. Marin becomes very excited about this and decides to dress as Ray-sama, a character from a popular harem franchise.

Much of the episode deals with showcasing the story of this show, which is called The Student Council President Is The No. 1 Host.

In this story, Ray is also actually a girl who acts like a guy because of her circumstances. The story has some heartfelt moments, but it also runs on Shoujo harem cliches. Gojo witnesses this anime for himself, and even he falls in love with the characters, getting more motivation to create a dress that fits Marin.

However, there is one huge problem. Gojo will also have to help out in the interior design section, which is why he might not have enough time to invest in both things. In this segment, a very brief romantic moment gets shared between them, and only Marin gets flustered.

Not just that, but we also see that Gojo is getting along with his classmates a lot more thanks to Marin’s help. He is slowly but surely opening up to others.

Verdict

In this episode, things were much simpler, and we don’t really see much happen. But that is all because the next episode will have Marin crossdressing, and that is surely going to break the internet.
