Hunter With a Scalpel Episode 6 Recap

The episode starts with a flashback of Se-hyun’s childhood, as it turns out that she had an older sister named Ko Eun-soo. We then skip to the present, when the police are investigating the dead woman in the alley that Se-hyun had previously stumbled upon. The police are shocked to see her there, though, and even more so when it’s revealed that she was the first person on the scene. The police are wary of Se-hyun and unable to trust her completely, thanks to her icy personality.

Later on, Jung-hyun gives Se-hyun a tracker to keep on her, considering she might be in danger thanks to her involvement in the case. She refuses at first, but he makes her choose between the tracker and a tail following her around, which makes the choice simpler. As they start the autopsy, Se-hyun is shocked to find a picture of herself from when she was a child inside the victim’s mouth. With the evidence in front of them, Jung-hyun is able to deduce what might be happening with the crimes, while a traumatised Se-hyun can’t help but mumble along with him.

As the case gets more complicated, things get heated at the police station while Se-hyun goes to her old home in search of a clue, but finds that her father has already beaten her to the chase and has removed all evidence. However, just as she’s about to give up, a young girl appears before her, holding her childhood doll and calling out for her father. Outside the trailer, Se-hyun finally comes face to face with Jo-gyun, who immediately hugs her. Elsewhere, Jung-hyun investigates another similar past case and comes across the name of Ko Eun-soo.

Meanwhile, Se-hyun and Jo-gyun bicker about their shared past and how he managed to save himself after falling off a cliff. He approaches her to join him in his quest again, but she vehemently refuses, and the two engage in a scuffle as she tries to drug him. At the station, Jung-hyun and his team find an adult picture of the little girl found in the dead body, who looks suspiciously similar to Se-hyun.

Just as Se-hyun is able to drug Ko-gyun again, however, she is tased by his new “daughter”.

Well, the stakes have gotten higher, and I can’t help but feel that the series would’ve had a better impact had it been 1-hour episodes instead of 30 minutes. Today’s episode has a lot happening, and clubbed with yesterday’s, it would’ve made for a better flow and been more impactful.

That being said, Hunter With a Scalpel Episode 6 is absolutely thrilling and will leave viewers on edge as a lot of revelations are made and several twists come to the surface. With Se-hyun now possibly abducted and her past about to be revealed to Jung-hyun, it remains to be seen what she will do to save herself professionally and personally.
