The 100 Girlfriends Season 2 Episode 8 Recap

At last, we uncover the backstory between Mimimi and Nano. It turns out they both participated in the same middle school beauty contest, where Nano emerged victorious while Mimimi fell short. Despite the loss, Mimimi genuinely wanted to befriend Nano, but Nano coldly turned her down. From that moment, Mimimi held a grudge, and now she’s determined to remove Nano from the Rentaro family. Her method? A competition, that is as absurd as the show’s premise itself.

The challenge requires them to name qualities that make Aijou’s other girlfriends special, earning a point for each correct answer. As the competition heats up, the final round involves complimenting Aijou. However, since Aijou refuses to let anyone be eliminated, he pulls off a series of outlandish stunts to ensure no clear winner emerges. In the end, he even sacrifices his hair to force a draw.

Fortunately, everything is resolved, and Mimimi officially becomes the 10th girlfriend. She’s immediately embraced by the group, who accept her wholeheartedly. She also naturally steps into the role of their go-to beautician. But in an unexpected turn of events, things escalate, leading to all the girlfriends kissing Aijou, with aphrodisiac-coated lips.

In this anime, we truly get to see all the random things for no reason. It first starts with a sudden announcement that the weather of the Earth is changing and there is a high chance it can go back into the Ice Age. Aijo, for obvious reasons, is absolutely worried about this whole thing, but his girlfriends do not really care, as they are having their own hair-styling day.  What this leads to is a sudden hair change of all the girlfriends at the hands of Meido.

In proper 100 Girlfriends fashion, the situation suddenly changes to Hahari drinking a hair growth medicine that turns her hair into a monster. Not only that but now, apparently, the tentacles that come from her hair plan to do unspeakable things to the girls. True to that, Hahari’s vicious hair does exactly what was expected. Soon the entire Earth gets engulfed in her hair.

Obviously, the only one who can make her go back to being normal is Aijo, and this is where we see him become the hero that he is. In this episode, we also see Hahari’s first husband help Aijo reach her location. And yes, as expected, Aijo solves everything with a kiss.

Today’s episode was again sexually charged and made little sense if you think about it with logic. But was it entertaining? Yes, it was. So do not watch it for the plot and just keep your brain on pause.

I liked today’s episode, even though it made zero sense. It had little to no plot, but who even expects it from this franchise at this point? So they really delivered what they do best. Also, guess who saved Earth from the possible Ice Age? It was Hahari.
