Newtopia (뉴토피아) is set to release this week, bringing in an intriguing look into a Zombie apocalypse world that has its moments of laughter. The plot of the show follows a young couple on the verge of a break-up when news of a zombie virus outbreak leaves them trying to adapt to the new life Meanwhile, they are also facing their complicated feelings for each other and trying to find a way to reunite. Newtopia: All to Know About the Upcoming Kdrama

Newtopia Plot

The plot of the show follows a soldier Lee Jae-yun, and his girlfriend,d Kang Yeong-ju, the protagonists who are fighting through a zombie virus outbreak to reach each other. Jae-yun is enlisted in the military and is seeking alternative service through employment in the defence industry. While he is worried for his future after his enlistment period, he seeks solace in his girlfriend. However, while his girlfriend is his obsession, he eventually breaks up with her.

Meanwhile, Yeong-ju is also having a hard time with her boyfriend who is in the military. Disheartened by his lack of understanding towards her, she is having a hard time while waiting for him. To worsen things, when she is suddenly notified of their breakup, she is unable to take it anymore and sets out to find her boyfriend and confront everything once and for all.

Right then, the two and the whole country are notified of a zombie outbreak that turns their world upside down. With no other route but to fight their way through this mess, Jae-yun sees himself shine through the chaos, and he gradually begins to lead a squad. Meanwhile, Yeong-ju is also fighting hard during this time and slowly becomes stronger than ever as he fights for survival.

When the two finally meet, they move on to settle in an air defence unit in a high-rise building in Seoul. The mess is surely not easy to get through, but will the couple be able to survive through this time? Will there be an end to this zombie outbreak? Will the two be able to fix their relationship during this time?

Directed by Yoon Sung-hyun, the drama stars Park Jeong-min as Lee Jae-yun, Kim Ji-soo as Yeong-ju, Im Sung-jae as Ra In-ho, Kim Joon-han as Aaron Park, Kang Young-seok as Seon Jin-uk, Hong Seo-hee as Oh Su-jeong and other cast members. The 8 Show actor Park Jeong-min is back with another intriguing role alongside BLACKPINK member and Snowdrop actor Kim Ji-soo for this upcoming show.

Newtopia Release Date and Time

Newtopia is set to release on February 7, 2025, at 4:30 PM IST on Friday. The show consists of 8 episodes which will be released weekly until March 28, 2025. The show will air one episode per week on COUPANG TV and will be available for streaming on Prime Video in selected regions.
