Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

The unexpected addition of Shidou shakes things up for the Blue Lock team, leaving everyone on edge. His arrival is a game-changer, and the team quickly realizes they must adapt to the new dynamics if they want to maintain their lead against the revamped under-20 team. From the start, Shidou proves to be a disruptive force—not just for the opposing team but for his own side as well.
Shidou’s playstyle is relentless. He refuses to let anyone control the ball, with his unyielding ego as a striker making him a formidable threat. Adding to his impact is Sae, the ideal playmaker who effortlessly delivers perfect passes to him. This dangerous synergy is on full display when Shidou executes an audacious goal-scoring manoeuvre, brought to life by Sae’s precision.

The episode, however, doesn’t just focus on Shidou. Several other characters have standout moments on the field. Niko, known for his exceptional field vision, experiences a breakthrough as a defender, realizing the satisfaction of challenging an opponent like Shidou. Meanwhile, Chigiri demonstrates his quick thinking and remarkable sprinting ability, though his lack of consistent training in the past becomes evident at a critical moment in the match.
Blue Lock Season 2 Episode 11 Review

Even though Nagi stopped Shidou, this beast could not be shut down completely as he took back the momentum for his team. It is obvious that he is the scariest player out of all on the court now, and at any moment, he can score another goal. A problem does arise when Shidou suddenly enters the flow state, completely flipping the situation. The fact that Sae managed to not only control Shidou’s ego, but also gave him great enough passes that Shidou was able to show his true potential, pushed him forward to evolve.
Shidou’s goal was absolutely incredible, showcasing that when it comes to raw power, he might even be better than Rin. This brings the score to U-20 at 3 and Blue Lock at 2. To win, now the Blue Lock team must step up to score more otherwise, it is a lost game.

But it is not like the Blue Lock team is not on the right path, Isagi even goes to Ego to ask for a strategy. However, his answer is the one that ignites a flame to do better in Isagi and others. They also finally put Barro on the team, who makes major changes the moment he steps foot on the ground. He has been instructed to do something by Ego, and that step might not be good for our hero, Isagi.
There is also the fact that Barro is similar to Shidou in terms of vigour but also more selfish as he not only refuses to pass the ball to enemies but also to his own teammates, creating issues for both.
Verdict

I loved today’s episode in terms of the plot and how they are keeping the intensity of the match intact, even with very subpar animation. It also makes you wonder how much better it would have been had the studio actually invested money in this anime.
This show is also funny at times with all the sexual innuendos of Shidou and the shit-talking of Isagi. I am sure the next episode will go absolutely crazy.
