Gangnam B-Side Episode 6 Review: What Happens Next?!

In episode 5, Jae-hee’s shocking death leaves everyone blindsided. While Gil-ho vows revenge, Seo-jin gets propositioned by Choi Hak-gu to join his team after he acknowledges her talents and hard work. Will she give in to this temptation or find a way to destroy these people once and for all?

Gangnam B-Side Episode 6 Recap

The episode starts with Dong-woo working as a cab driver, ferrying women to and from places. It seems like he is working undercover to get to the bottom of the dangerous ring. We learn later on that after Jae-hee’s death Dong-woo quit the force and that he is searching for Ye-seo who has disappeared. Meanwhile, still on his path of vengeance, Gil-ho burns down Kei’s newest dance bar.

Meanwhile, it seems like Seo-jin has moved up at her workplace, bringing questions about her backers to the forefront. It turns out she had taken Hak-gu’s deal that night which gave her a “wings” and refuses to work with Dong-woo, letting criminals accused of dangerous crimes go in order to rank up. On the other hand, tensions rise between Ju-il and Hak-gu, while Seo-jin gets a whiff of the corruption taking place in the mayor’s office. it turns out it’s another little plan between her and Hak-gu, which makes her butt heads with Ju-il as well. In the end, Ju-il is arrested for charges of bribery and corruption.

Elsewhere, Jang-ho meets Dong-woo and learns about Ye-seo’s location and what Dong-woo is up to. Although Jang-ho is of the opinion that he won’t be able to find her like that, Dong-woo tells him about the new drug Neon and tells him that wherever this drug was found, Ye-seo’s location also pinged at that location. He continues to visit the places where Ye-seo was seen and comes across Soo-in and helps her with a badly beaten-up girl. In the process, Gil-ho finds him and beats him up and Dong-woo ends up tearfully apologising to him for Jae-hee’s death.

Gil-ho learns about Kei’s whereabouts from Soo-in while Dong-woo gets another Neon launch location and immediately rushes to do a pickup. Meanwhile, Hak-gu tells Seo-jin the full scope of his business and she is shocked to learn that Neon is a part of his devastating plans. Elsewhere, Dong-woo finally finds Ye-seo at this newest drop when her location turns on while Gil-ho also receives the location of the Neon drop and decides to pay a visit.

Unfortunately, Dong-woo desperately tries to get to Ye-seo but she refuses to acknowledge him, leaving with Soo-in and letting Dong-woo desperately chase after her. Unfortunately, he is hit by K’s car, who decides to end his life once and for all but just as they are about to drive off with him, Gil-ho crashes into their car, looking like he is on the verge of burning everything down with him.

Gangnam B-Side Episode 6 Review

Gangnam B-Side episode 6 has everything to leave you hooked for the next week. I am interested to see Gil-ho’s vengeance plot the most because Ji Chang-wook looks like he is all about that. We haven’t really seen him truly get into the unhinged role just yet so I am excited to see how that plays out. But, I think I am most excited to understand Ye-seo’s endgame because till now she has been such an annoying presence and has added nothing but a headache for the protagonists. If the last two episodes are anything like this one, this one will truly turn itself around from its snooze-worthy first few episodes.
