The Zone: Survival Mission Season 3 Episode 4 Review: A Bug That Brings Many Missions and Eliminations!

Yoo Jae-suk and Kwon Yu-ri are back in The Zone: Survival Mission Season 3, with new team members- Kim Dong-hyun and DEX. As they return to enter new realities and bring about more interesting scenarios, an entertaining and educative adventure awaits us all. The show brings new simulations and lessons to be learnt to ensure we are given more than just entertainment in this variety show.

“MC of the Nation” Yoo Jae-suk and Girls’ Generation Kwon Yu-ri are joined by “Stun Gun” Kim Dong-hyun and Single’s Inferno star DEX and are ready with an eight-episode-long adventure for us all.

The Zone: Survival Mission Season 3 Episode 4 Recap

Episode 4 of this season takes the agents of mankind from the Fact Check Zone directly to the Bug Zone which brings numerous missions for the members. The agents wake up in unknown locations with another person in a similar situation, and a man on television gives them orders to free themselves. This man is none other than the Youtuber who was behind fabricating lies about the resort they were in during the Fact Check Zone.

Jae-suk wakes up next to Cha Tae-hyun, Yu-ri wakes up next to SHINee’s Key, Dex finds himself in Agent H’s presence, and Dong-hyun finds himself with Jung Dawoon. The agents are surprised, but they soon find out that they need to compete against the person who is in their company and find the keys hidden in the place they are held captive.

Jae-suk is lying down on a platform and needs to throw rings on the pole below to bring the key to his freedom up. Yu-ri needs to solve some puzzles and then fish the key out of a claw machine. Dex needs to climb the ropes in the room for his key, while Dong-hyun needs to wrestle his way out to get his key.

The four soon begin to complete the mission, except Jae-suk who is scared of heights and encourages Tae-hyun to finish the task so that he can lose and get out of there. Soon, Tae-hyun, Yu-ri, Dex, and Dong-hyun succeed in their tasks and are put together to form a team for their next task. The losers are also put together to form their competing team.

The next task is for them to place one member on a trap door which will open when the opposing team members fill up the box in front of them with enough sand. This sand is gained by entering a maze-like place and gathering the sand. The first member who falls down the trapdoor is eliminated. This time, Dex and Agent H are put on the platforms and soon their teams begin gathering sand to get rid of the opposing team’s member.

This time, the loser team wins as Dex falls down the trapdoor first and is eliminated. The seven members are then taken to the next task where they need to guess the alphabet on their back to make their way to the next round. However, one member needs to be eliminated, and if everyone guesses the right alphabet, then the seventh member gets eliminated automatically.

This time the members choose to play their mind games on each other and Key succeeds in fooling Dong-hyun who goes first and is eliminated, enabling the others to go to the next round by default. While the members laugh about this round, the final game they need to play is hide and seek.

The Youtuber decides to take part in this round and the members need to hide from him as he chases to pop the balloons attached to them. Every time a balloon is popped, 10 minutes are reduced for the round and members need to survive for a reduced time. After the initial hiding period, the Youtuber soon joins the game while the members try their best to stay hidden from his sight.

Jae-suk and Tae-hyun have a near-caught experience with him, while Key becomes the first victim to be eliminated in the game. With his elimination, the identity of the Youtuber is revealed, and it is none other than Agent H. He soon begins chasing the rest and eliminates Jae-suk after chase and Tae-hyun soon after.

However, before Tae-hyun’s elimination, we also see a gun in Yu-ri’s hand, revealing that she can cut down on her hiding time by eliminating the other members. While she fails to eliminate Tae-hyun herself, she succeeds in eliminating Dawoon, which ends her hiding time for her and makes her the only surviving agent.

With this, the games come to an end and the agents of mankind escape the Bug Zone. AI U then reveals that due to a bug, these agents were sent to this zone where they came across their real-life colleagues. Due to this, the agents are given some Z coins while Yu-ri is awarded with extra Z coins for being the only surviving agent in this zone.

The Zone: Survival Mission Season 3 Episode 4 Review

Episode 4 brought in a mixture of games for the agents, along with more participants, which in itself made this a fun and entertaining episode to watch. The tasks were fun and exciting to watch, and the participants’ nervousness could be felt through the screen, which increased the intensity of the zone.

While Jae-suk’s entertaining presence never fails us, and Yu-ri continues to shine like always, the new members have also done their best in this round. Their talents were shining in this zone, which only made this episode even better to watch. However, we also hope to see more from them as they get out of their comfort zone so that we witness more sides to them.

Finally, while everything in this episode was a pleasure to watch, it is Tae-hyun’s survival blog that really stood out for me in this episode. It brought a hilarious touch to the otherwise intense scene of the hide-and-seek game and became a highlight in itself. Altogether, this was yet another fun episode, and we are eager for the upcoming episodes.
