Scheduled to take place on December 31, the 2023 MBC 가요대제전 will not just be welcoming the leading trendsetters of the new-age K-pop landscape, but also legendary trot singers who haven’t yet performed at any of the shows held so far.
Their exclusive appearance will be announced by the outstanding trio of MCs hosting this year’s ceremony – SHINee’s Minho, Hwang Minhyun and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA. Minho will be making his comeback to the MBC Music Festival stage as one of the MCs for the first time in five years. He was last seen hosting the night of music in 2018, whereas, Minhyun will be making his debut as a host alongside Im Yoon-ah, who’s been consistently joining as an MC since 2015. This year’s theme is “Dream Record”, and here’s all that we know about the upcoming ceremony.
When and Where to Watch MBC Music Festival 2023
2023 MBC Music Festival live coverage will be handled by the South Korean network MBC, and so, much like how the red carpet events for previous music festivals organised under the banners of KBS and SBS, this one’s fashionable commencement may be streamed on MBC’s YouTube channel. As for the main show including all performances, MBC has partnered up with BIGC for the global live (except Korea and Japan) broadcast, to be held on December 31, 2023, at 8:30 PM KST. Special 2023 MBC Music Festival Performances Announced So Far
1. RIIZE Anton and his father, Yoon Sang (composer, record producer, singer-songwriter) will be joining forces for the first time at MBC Gayo Daejejeon 2023 for a special performance.
2. SHINee Minho and Hwang Minhyun, i.e. this year’s hosts for the year-end music festival, will also be forming a partnership for a special collaboration.
3. On December 28, MBC revealed that DAY6 and 2AM will also be coming together for a special collaboration. This will mark DAY’s first reunion as a group at such a big event in four years.
