Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 11 Review: A Blast From the Past Has Been Summoned!

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 11 Review: The eleventh episode of the anime series premiered on October 5, 2023. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (呪術廻戦 or Sorcery Fight) much-anticipated anime of this season, is finally out, and the fans cannot keep calm. Directed by Sunghoo Park, the show is animated under MAPPA Studio. With Sayaka Koiso and Tadashi Hiramatsu designing the characters, Yoshimasa Terui is the sole composer of the series. Tatsuya Kitani performed the opening theme, Where Our Blue Is (青のすみか), while Soushi Sakiyama performed the ending theme, Light (燈).

The anime is scheduled for two cours, the first five episodes adapted the manga’s Hidden Inventory arc, and the upcoming eighteen other episodes will showcase the Shibuya arc. Licensed under Crunchyroll, the episodes will be available with English subtitles, and the dubbed version will be released later on.

Based on the manga series of the same name by Gege Akutami, the story follows high school student Yuji Itadori as he joins a secret organization of Jujutsu Sorcerers in order to kill a powerful Curse named Ryomen Sukuna, of whom Yuji becomes the host. However, the new season will consist of various aspects of the story which the audience has been wondering about. Each episode has a runtime of 20-25 minutes.

-Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 11 Review Contains No Spoilers-

A new group of Jujutsu saucers are on the rise following the sealing of Gojo Satoru. However, this episode focuses more on the characters who are integral to the plot have been given the main focus in this episode. Moreover, we get a glimpse from the past which can prove to be a dangerous turn of events for the sorcerers.

However, the episode provides a needed explanation for the events that had been occurring in the last few episodes. There are a few concepts which cannot be understood without the details of the concept. The shield which encovers a part of the city has proven to be a major ruckus for the sorcerers who are unable to penetrate it. But we finally get a grasp of the situation and the dynamite trio, Yuji, Megumi and Ino try to get ahold of the circumstances.

Moreover, we get to know more about the individual characters and understand where their motives stem from. Yuji is an extremely powerful teenager and he has not even reached half his potential. The growing suspense at his character development and growth is one of the most exciting aspects of the series. Moreover, his strength combined with Megumi Fushiguro’s makes it almost impossible to stop them.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 11 Review

From the elegant and exquisite action scenes to the thorough character emotional depiction, the animation team has really pushed the envelope of what is possible. Every combat is an enthralling visual spectacle, with spells and curses exploding with vibrant and alluring effects. Each encounter is an exciting rush thanks to the energetic camera motions and choreography, and the carefully thought-out character designs are not only visually appealing but also expertly carried out.

By giving their characters unique characteristics and nuance, each voice actor makes sure that every character has a distinct and unforgettable personality. Beyond just reciting lines, they give complex emotional ranges in their performances that bring the characters to life on film. Also, the voice actors have showcased their great abilities in the field of voice acting by demonstrating a wonderful ability to give life to their particular characters.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 11 Review: Final Thoughts

The new episode has been substantially progressing a lot since the last one. The audience gets a closer look at the main character and his unexplainable strength that keeps growing. There is an unspoken fascination revolving around Yuji’s character and the mystery behind his origin only keeps the viewers glued to the series for the long run. Moreover, with the return of Toji Zenin, who is responsible for shaping the story heavily increases further curiosity.
