Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 3 Ending Explained: The third episode of the anime series premiered on July 20, 2023. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (呪術廻戦 or Sorcery Fight) much-anticipated anime of this season, is finally out, and the fans cannot keep calm. Directed by Sunghoo Park, the show is animated under MAPPA Studio. With Sayaka Koiso and Tadashi Hiramatsu designing the characters, Yoshimasa Terui is the sole composer of the series. Tatsuya Kitani performed the opening theme, Where Our Blue Is (青のすみか), while Soushi Sakiyama performed the ending theme, Light (燈).

The anime is scheduled for two cours, the first five episodes will adapt the manga’s Hidden Inventory arc, and the eighteen other episodes will showcase the Shibuya arc. Licensed under Crunchyroll, the episodes will be available with English subtitles, and the dubbed version will be released later on.

Based on the manga series of the same name by Gege Akutami, the story follows high school student Yuji Itadori as he joins a secret organization of Jujutsu Sorcerers in order to kill a powerful Curse named Ryomen Sukuna, of whom Yuji becomes the host. However, the new season will consist of various aspects of the story which the audience has been wondering about. Each episode has a runtime of 20-25 minutes.

What happened to Gojo?

Both Gojo and Geto successfully rescued Kiro safely from the kidnappers. The next day all four of them went to the beach to spend some leisure time since it was the very last day till Riko would merge with Master Tengen. During that scene, it was mentioned that Gojo was constantly keeping his cursed energy activated, which exhausted him greatly. They reached Jujutsu High the next day to move Riko to a more secure location. However, suddenly Toji appears and stabs Gojo from the back.

Gojo took the impact and was not severely injured as he protected himself with his cursed energy. Nevertheless, Toji was extremely powerful and kept on attacking Gojo. But although Gojo was very powerful, he was unable to sense Toji’s presence because he is a non-curse user. Moreover, Toji is extremely fast, which made it impossible for Gojo to track him.

Gojo took the upper hand with his powerful attack and managed to keep Toji at bay. However, Toji was one step ahead and released numerous cursed objects in front of Gojo so that he was unable to sense Toji. Taking that opportunity, he takes out his sword, which is not ordinary. It is a heavenly sword that has the ability to penetrate through ongoing curse energy. He easily breaks Gojo’s limitless barrier and slits his body in half. Gojo falls to the ground, unconscious in a pool of his own blood.

Is Gojo alive or dead?

As we all know that the current season showcases Gojo’s past. So, it is most likely that Gojo survived the vicious attack. He might have used his abilities to heal himself. There is another possibility that Shoko helped him come back to life, since her power his healing. Or there might be some other situation at play.

What happened to Riko?

As Geto was about to send Riko to merge with Tengen, they were chatting for the last time. However, Riko expressed that she did not wish to leave yet, and Geto offered his help again. Just when they were about to leave, Riko was shot point blank with a gun that Toji was carrying. It is possible that Riko met her untimely demise in the episode.
