Kicking off his official solo debut less than a week ago on July 14, 2023 with his single album and iconic music video starring Han So-hee, the youngest member of BTS, Jeon Jungkook, has fairly bagged the Seven 1st win! The auspicious and extremely special victory came his way on Mnet’s weekly music program broadcast of M Countdown on July 20, 2023. While the artist himself is off completing his promotions overseas for this new era in his life, back home, a grand trophy signed off with his name on it awaits him.
The current season of Thursday Mnet M Countdown episodes is hosted by (G)I-DLE Miyeon and MONSTA X Joohoney. With sundry amazing performances lined up for the day, the show riled up a contest between two newly released single hits, namely, NewJeans’ Super Shy and Jungkook’s Seven Ft. Latto (Clean Version). Taking the lead with his 6068 points garnered on the broadcast, in addition to the digital streams and other criteria, the BTS member defeated his fellow HYBE Labels girl group, who hit low with 5344 points.
The broadcast’s July 20th lineup included the following performances: MONSTA X Joohoney’s special solo stage for the track Don’t Worry Be Happy (he’ll soon be departing for his mandatory military service), NCT Dream’s ISTJ, Sandara Park’s solo debut stage FESTIVAL, TREASURE’s pre-release single for the upcoming comeback – MOVE (T5), ZEROBASEONE’s In Bloom, ODD EYE CIRCLE’s Air Pulse One, MIRAE’s Jump, 8TURN’s Excel, LUN8’s Voyager and more.
Coming back to the man of the hour, he’ll also be reuniting with his fellow band mate, Suga, on his laid-back talk show Suchwita‘s next episode. J-hope came on to discuss his post-discharge plans with the older member on the most recent episode entry i.e. the 14th one. The same episode also teased the follow-up conversation with the Still With You singer on the upcoming 15th episode. With this Jungkook Suchwita appearance, the show will have welcomed all members of the South Korean septet except Kim Taehyung aka V, who’s also working on his solo debut album presently.
