More than 5 murders. 32 cryptic letters. An unidentified killer. A 50-year-old case. Myth of the Zodiac Killer brings to the viewers a case file that instilled fear in the hearts of every American, one that still prevails. The upcoming 2-part docu-series is based on the unsolved case of an identified person who made headlines in the 1960s for killing at least 5 identified victims near the San Francisco Bay Area, California, US, along with many more unidentified ones.
To this day, the case remains unsolved. What makes the Zodiac unique is how this guy (based on the sketch made by the police) sent coded messages and cyphers as well as phone calls to taunt the newspaper agencies and the police. But none of this could be used to identify him or even locate him.
The documentary takes us back to the cases surrounding the killer and explores the different facets from a modern perspective. It also poses the question of whether the Zodiac was a myth; hence the name Myth of the Zodiac Killer. Director Andrew Nock teams up with investigative journalist and author Thomas Henry Horan (The Myth of the Zodiac Killer: A Literary Investigation) to take us back to those terrorizing times.
Myth of the Zodiac Killer Cast
Since it is a documentary, we will get interviews with the survivors and the family members of the victims of the Zodiac. We will probably have police officials, detectives, and doctors who examined the victims’ bodies, as well as maybe even cryptanalysts or code-breakers involved in the case.

Myth of the Zodiac Killer Plot/Storyline
A case that took the whole world by storm and went on to become America’s classic unsolved crime, the Zodiac files has today become a part of American pop culture with two films made around it. They are Dirty Harry (1971) and Zodiac (2007). While the former was inspired by the case, the latter showed a group of investigators and reporters trying to solve it.
In this documentary, we see Andrew and Thomas have a difference of opinion. Andrew believes that all the murders were committed by one person, Thomas considers the possibility that there might have been no murderer at all and it was all a myth. Both these theories will be explored based on all the evidence including letters written by Zodiac.
A case that has maintained its reputation for being unsolved for more than 50 years deserves attention. The docu-series will delve deep into the experiences of the survivors and the victim’s family members who went through the terror and trauma. This is the emotional part. As for the analytical part, the series will showcase the investigation that was carried out during that time and how close they were to catching the culprit.
