The Kardashians Season 3 Episode 1 Recap and Review

The Kardashians Season 3 Episode 1 truly starts like an old teen drama. The production has seemingly elevated or, that is what they are trying to make us feel because when we meet the fam, they are shooting for the opening credits for the season and it includes roller staking as Beyonce’s Cuff It plays in the background. The first five to six minutes of the show is this- a preview of what is going to happen this season, the opening credits rolling with the characters getting introduced one by one, all wearing black and, Khloe giving us a heads up that is one is not going to be a serene season.

The real episode, or drama, depends on what you are signing up for while watching this show begins after the homemade music video. It strangely starts with Scott Disick making his due visit to Khloe’s place. Khlo is in a positive place in her life she says. Something on her face has been bothering her, so she has run a biopsy test and is awaiting the results.

Soon enough, Kim enters the house and, it is a little reunion until Scott brings up her breakup and she lingers around it. On the producer interview screen, she realizes that season two ended while she was still dating Pete and, it has been a long time since, right? Kim’s status update is that she is single and, not ready to mingle. The three chat about Kim’s relationship with Davidson and how it has been since.

In this trio talk, we also get to know a bit about Khloe’s pregnancy and baby. There is some amount of self-indulgent talk about Kardashian, the name’s place in this world and, men. Later we see Kim and Kris get together and have some conversation until we come to the other members of the family and, the ones we hope to see more of this season- Kendall and Kylie Jenner! The two are seen on a fun driving segment in the first episode as Kylie requested Kendall to teach her to drive a stick.

Later in Kendall’s segment, we see her celebrate her 818 brands at a fun party, where, of course, everyone is invited. And, this is the iconic moment of the first episodes of the Kar-Jenner reality show where we see the entire family come together. Even the kids are here, including Stormi! At this party we get to know about Khloe’s Melanoma and, we get an insight from Kourtney into how the family actually grieves.

The Kardashians Season 3 Episode 1 ends with Khloe and Kourtney getting some time together where the eldest Kardashian really opens up about her younger sister and their connection and, where Kim, Kourt and Khlo are in their sibling-ship. The final light in the episode is, of course, taken by Kim when we see that Kanye West is really taking a hit on her after their divorce.

The Kardashians Season 3 Episode 1 Review: Final Thoughts

First off, the segment changes in this season are finer than what we saw in the last two. Credit should be given where due and the production has improved in terms of the design and storytelling aspect because the first episode seemed less rushed and jumbled up. I am glad we have more of Kendall, instead of Kim, Khloe and Kourtney being the main focus. And, we are expecting Kylie, so maybe that will happen soon.

With this episode, we are really just getting started and believing Khloe in some sense that the rocky ride is something we are going to be on. Hopefully, with the next episodes, we will find some salt and sugar to upgrade to and sit on.
