– Crimes Aaj Kal Episode 7 Review Contains Spoilers –
The episode starts with Vikrant Massey checking out his social media, where he initially reads positive comments before moving on to read hate comments that disturb him. He then proceeds to talk about how hateful comments can cost a life, and then the episode’s story starts. We are introduced to two young girls, Manjari and Avantika, going to the mall before proceeding to grab Momos.
During their travel, a guy is seen stalking them before shooting Avantika dead. Police interrogation starts and protests also ignite at Avantika’s college for justice. Her boyfriend Sunil blames Vikas, a politician’s son, for killing Avantika since she rejected his love. Vikas is arrested and questioned. Vikas reveals that he contacted a contract killer to threaten Sunil since, during a fight with Avantika, Sunil intervened and insulted him.

We are also shown another scene where Avantika’s hostel roommate tells the police about Sunil having a fight with Avantika before her murder. This makes police suspect Sunil, and upon investigation, we get to see that Sunil has been fighting with Avantika for her photos on social media. Now that both Sunil and Vikas are arrested, the police try to find out who exactly plot the murder.

Her classmates then suspect Manjari and is constantly questioned. This pushes her further to figure out the murder. Meanwhile, the police go through Avantika’s social media posts and come across terrible comments passed by a guy called Rajesh. Just then Manjari comes to the station and informs Rajesh asking about Avantika’s whereabouts on the day of the murder. The police link Rajesh with the case and arrest him.

Upon investigation, it is evident that Rajesh has shot Avantika with his father’s revolver. The reason behind the murder is understood that after passing abusive comments on Avantika’s posts, Rajesh has been bullied and forced to apologise to Avantika. Since he felt insulted, he decided to take revenge. Rajesh is then imprisoned, releasing Vikas and Sunil. However, Sunil and his friends are suspended for a month while Vikas is allowed to college due to his politician father’s power.
The episode, as usual, concludes with Vikrant Massey educating the viewers that it is best not to take hate comments to one’s head but to brush it off because life is too good to worry about all these.
Crimes Aaj Kal Episode 7 Final Thoughts

The episode once again revolves around social media, and the show starts to feel like almost everything is going to be around this theme. If so, then they should have titled the show with some other name. This episode didn’t pull off well because, yes, hate comments are terrible, but the storyline took a different route. But apart from these, the show is delivering promising content with a good cast, cinematography, and message.
Crimes Aaj Kal is streaming on Amazon miniTV.
